This product does not stop flowing water. It’s supposed to flow some as it gets cold but I can’t get it to stop even when it’s 70 degrees outside. I’ve taken it apart since I’m past the return window and don’t see any reason why it’s not functioning as described except that the spring may not be very good. It’s been through one freeze but now it won’t stop flowing water. I’m not sure if I’ve got only one bad unit or two. This morning I noticed the second one dripping at 50 degrees. So, I can’t recommend this product.

I got two of these, and they worked to keep my pipes from freezing during a cold-snap here in Central Texas (25F overnight). Easy to install, and didn't really leak beyond what I expected from the slow drip required to keep the water flowing. So far so good.

Doesn’t work. It’s 65 degrees out and these valves are sitting right under the sun and the water still running. They just never stop running. When it gets a bit cold they open up almost fully and the amount of water that runs is way too much, almost like a fully open faucet.

These protected our outdoor pipes during unusual weather circumstances in Louisiana this winter. Could not be happier with this product. Highly recommend.

I've been looking to upgrade my freeze protection and these look like great candidates. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to put them to a full test because I got them not realizing the pipes that connect to my hose bibs are 3/4 NPT. I rigged up a pipe to test performance during our first freeze night and it appeared to work as promised (didn't drip until temps dropped to ~35F, then started dripping, then stopped when temps rose).I also tested a similar all-metal device that did fit my hose bibs and it performed well too. So with that and my half-test of this specific product, I judge this design solid in general. Best part, If you've got 3/4 NPT, this product installs inline so you can install it and forget it. All others install at the end and have to be removed to use the hose. This specific product feels better made than both the other products I tested -- so, with all that, giving it 5-stars.
