I am not using this for the purpose that most will… I have a CNC machine which I assembled from plans online (look up MPCNC), it works great, and is very handy to have. The downside is that it takes up quite a bit of space in my garage. With this hoist system, I am able to hoist the CNC machine up out of the way (the machine is pretty light, nowhere near the rating of this hoist), and it is working perfect for that. The install was pretty easy, and all the components appear to be of very good quality.

To be honest, I have not completed my installation of this Overhead Garage Storage Lift/Hoist, made by DNShorix.I haven't figured out the best material to use for the deck portion yet. I need something strong, but don't want to add extra weight. My setup is going into a pole building with 12 feet to the bottom of the roof trusses. I also plan to augment/reinforce the connection points around the truss area where this will connect. I will use it store things like 2 extra tires and other odds and ends that accumulate around the barn...Anyway - here are my thoughts on the kit and contents overall. As noted, I have at least 12 feet to cover. So this kit seems like a good fit since it goes up to 16ft to the ceiling.I will say the spool of rope included seems like a nice quality and they've given plenty of it.The kit also includes all the pulleys and anchor points you need to secure to the ceiling and deck portions. I feel all these components are pretty decent and made well enough to give me confidence they'll work as expected. The largest, and probably most important part of this setup is the hoist/winch. It looks decent. Not "wow" but not bad either. Since I have yet to use it weighed down, I can't say for sure. Seems to be in line with something from HF, if you know what I mean...I do appreciate the easy to read and understand instructions. They pretty much tell you what and how you need for the install.I'm looking forward to getting this mounted up in the barn. It'll be nice to have the ability to store things up high and out of the way, but still have the ability to conveniently get to them when needed.

Great value for a well designed hoist system for garage storage. The unit is easy to assemble and to install with all hardware included. The powerful electric motor can lift up to 300 pounds. The hoist works with ceilings from 8 to 16 feet. Excellent storage option.

Right from the start, the installation was a nightmare. The instructions were so poorly written that it took our experienced handyman hours to figure out. Even after spending all that time, the lift still doesn't work properly. It jerks and makes a loud, worrying noise every time it's used. This is not only inconvenient but also a safety hazard. I really regret buying this product.

The quality of the materials is shockingly bad. The cables look flimsy, and I'm constantly worried they might snap. The lift's motor overheats very quickly, and we have to wait for it to cool down before using it again. It's supposed to make our work easier, but instead, it's caused us so much frustration. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Was too big & heavy for my garage ceiling

This kit for a garage hoist includes all of the pulleys and hardware needed for the core of a basic garage lift. You will still need your own base deck of whatever size you want to build. I recommend using wire rope instead of what is supplied in the kit, but if you are not lifting 100's of pounds the included rope is fine. With a little bit of extra engineering you can add a motor to the lift to make it even nicer - YouTube is a great source for ideas. Overall quality base parts you need to get going included.

The hooks, pulleys, and hoist are very heavy duty. The listing picture shows an Elephant standing on a lifted shelf supported by this...Don't try it! It's not going to hold even a baby Elephant. Most of the kit is good quality except for the included rope. It's "Reinforced braided nylon rope". I chose not to use this because I didn't feel it was strong enough. Instead I got vinyl coated stainless cable. You can find it on Amazon for about $25. Otherwise good kit.
