Great product! As a landlord, I’m constantly fixing and adjusting door knobs and door strikes. This product saves me a bunch of time and doesn’t compromise safety. Unlike those cheap Chinese knockoffs, the Smart Throw is thicker and clearly better designed. It’s a great value and works great.

The smooth throw arrived quickly and the quality shows. I installed on a door that was a constant issue. Now the door locks smoothly. I will oder more for a couple other problem doors.

Exactly what I needed for my front door. I needed this to allow the bolt to close easily

It works! I have a fairly new home but whoever installed the deadbolts must have had their head on crooked because they were badly misaligned and caused me trouble all the time and my smart lock would only work half the time with one of them since it would jam halfway and throw an error code. I removed the old striker plates and I used a small rotary sander to enlarge the hole on the side where the deadbolt was making contact with the wooden door frame. I then sanded down a small section on the door frame itself so this new striker plate would lay perfectly flush against the frame and now my door deadbolts have no problems opening and closing with ease.

I like how sturdy this is (twice the thickness of another deadbolt strike plate I reviewed), and how the edges have been rounded (unlike that other strike plate, whose edges were scratchy). The screws are a shade over an inch long, but personally I'd replace them with longer (2" long or longer) and thicker screws--it comes with #10 screws, but the four holes in the plate are sized to easily take a #12 screw, and probably a #14 screw. Given that the screws are a weak point in deadlocks, I'm not sure why these don't come with better screws. But my question is: which direction does the open part of this strike plate go? I looked at a lot of pictures on-line of these and similar strike plates, and I've seen them both ways: open part facing out, and open part facing the doorframe's stop plate (the thicker part of the jam). Given that it's easier to kick a door than pull it, I *think* the open part of the strike plate should face out, so the solid part resists the force of the deadbolt when the door is kicked. Hopefully the seller will clarify.
