These are excellent quality cycling tights for cold weather. They keep your legs warm and dry, and the performance fabric is high quality. They are perfect for winter, and are of the premium craftsmanship I have come to expect from all Pearl Izumi cycling products. They fit true to size. They don't ride up or roll up while riding. The compression is comfortable and effective. I definitely recommend these.

Sizing:Standard American sizing, not European sizing. The chart is accurate.Stretch:4-way stretch.Thickness:Spring/fall weightChamois:The chamois is very plush, and supportive.Best for:All of spring, and early to mid-fall.Water repellency:Very goodWicking:Acceptable, but if you sweat a lot, the wicking qualities of these tights will not keep up.Overall:I like these tights for spring wear primarily. They're warm enough for early to mid-fall as well.4 stars

These thermal tights helped a lot in the colder weather. The fleece is soft and warm. The material is breathable. The padding is a good density for short or long rides. The tights have good compression. They felt comfortable for the whole ride. These tights can be used by themselves or as a base layer. The calves have reflective elements to help with night visibility. The materials stretch well, and they move with my body without riding up. It has a lot of different panels of fabric in the waist area to help with fitting and compression. I think it is a good design for a variety of body types.I recommend these if you're looking for cold weather gear. The tights hold up in some of the lower temps. Although, there is a limit. You may consider layering in frigid temps. It depends on your comfort level. I found these tights are of high quality. I feel that the price is high, but it beats a lot of the cheaper level stuff. Not a bad snag!

Winter is here! You ready for base training? I needed something for our cold winter days up here in the pnw, and these are fitting the bill nicely. I’ve worn these in mid 30’s on a 5 hour ride and never felt cold. They are nicely water resistant, and the chamois is surprisingly the best I’ve encountered from this brand. I have no issues on long rides. These feel good on the skin and the size M fits me well at 5’10, 180lbs.

As the owner of a pair of similar tights from Pearl Izumi from a few years ago, I knew I could expect some decent bike tights but there have been some significant changes and not all of them positive.I wore these out on a ride as soon as I got them. This may be one of our last cooler days until fall weather.Things to note:First, they are comfortable and the padding is decent. The chamois and padding have changed from my prior pair of Pearl tights and I think the padding is better. Maybe my old tights are just worn out. The chamois looks and feels more like genuine chamois. That is, more like the kind of actual chamois material I used to get when the shorts or tights were made of wool. ;-) That's a long time ago.The padding is consistent with other Pearl Izumi shorts and bibs of this latest generation. Two big gaps for me with these: First, the waistband doesn't have a drawstring like my older Pearl tights. That can come in handy when the fit is not just perfect. Second, the leg openings at the ankle have no zippers. It's not rocket science to get out of them once they're on and yet I always appreciated the zippers on the sides of my older pair of Pearl's (and other similar tights). The length on these is as I expected. See my photo for an example of how high they are above my ankle. For reference, my inseam for regular pants is around 35". So these are pretty long.Fit at the openings at the ankle is fine. Snug but not tight.Lastly I'll add that for cycling gear of most any kind I often recommend that anyone that has something of a 'dad bod' order a size up from what they might otherwise buy in regular clothes. In this case, I don't think I'd make that generalization or that recommendation. You might otherwise find it's more roomy that you want. And without the drawstring it's harder to make adjustments.
