Perfect fit . I replaced it with this . Here is some of the history as of why I replaced it as well.My Pentair 400 was having some kind of explosion every time it would start . It was scary . Turns out that the igniter was not lighting up quick enough and the gas was accumulating . Replacing it with this identical part solved my problem and the unit is working like new. I also replaced the termistor (this part) even though was working ok . When I pulled it out it had corrosion . I suggest you replace it as well and prevent future failure . I recommend this part and the seller was quick on shipping

3-4 yr old Pentair unit. I did a bit of YouTube research to determine the cause of my spa not heating up the pool. In my case, there were no error codes being displayed on the Pentair heater unit but the water temp never went up. After a few guesses, I suspected the thermistor unit. While others on YouTube showed their used thermistor in pretty bad shape, mine looked a bit worn with what looks like calcium deposits. After removing the side panel (with the water inlet/outlet are), noticed the new thermistor was exactly the same size as old one (read about others having diff sizes when replacing). I suggest using a small flathead screwdriver to help wriggle the connectors out from the old unit.Used an adjustable wrench to remove the old unit and replaced it with new one. Tighten it up to the depth of the pre-installed tape on threads. Then reinsert the connectors. Total time: 15 minutes (going slow).Fired up the heater and got a nice hot spa!

I have a Pentair Mastertemp 300 pool heater using propane to heat the pool water. With the symptoms I first ordered a Pentair 77707-0010 Thermal Regulator as the symptoms matched. However this didn't fix it so I called Pentair and when I told them the symptoms they suggested that I replace this part. The symptoms are the temperature starts out near the correct water temperature and then rapidly shoots up to a very high temperature so it never turns on. So I replaced this part. It took removing three screws to remove the appropriate cover and then, due to the high pressure release valve I installed, I spent about 10 minutes slowly turning and unscrewing the part. I took less time to put back in. I think I was able to turn it 180 degrees per reset of the wrench. When I turned on the pool heater, it worked with no indicated rapid temperature increase to keep it from turning on. Happy it worked. I now, once again, have a functioning Pentair Mastertemp Pool Heater. I believe this part failed after about 3 years of use.

I have a Pentair Master temp 400 heater. When I turned it on for the first time this season, the temp read 104 degrees and would not heat. There were no trouble lights on so it sounded like the thermistor was the logical diagnosis. I read some reviews and took a chance that this would fix my problem. It's a quick and easy install - all you need is a screwdriver and an adjustable wrench - done in 5 minutes unless you replace the wrong part like I did and have to go back to the old drawing board. Reasonable price and shipped faster than expected given the standard free shipping option I chose - delivered in 3 days.

Bought to address problem with heater reading about 20 degrees hotter than the water possibly could be. Was a little concerned that the failure mode was listed as either "short" or "open" in the instructions. However, replacing it solved the problem. Installation was easy, need a large monkey wrench or a deep 13/16" socket wrench.Disappointed in the "1-2 extra processing days" on something supposedly in stock and sold by Amazon. Did delay repair until after the holiday. It clearly wasn't for adding protection. Packaging was minimal and rough handling could have easily damaged the terminals.
