Sharp edges needs a little bit of filing and sanding, not bad for the money.

Basically a good tool. Couple of easily addressable issues. The small stamped plate that holds the moving jaw level was detached, along with the two screws that held it in place. Lock washers for the screws were in the package loose as well, but in order for the jaw to slide freely when that little plate is tightened down, you need a couple of small spacer washers between the bottom of the jaw and that plate. No sign of those, but that'll only be a few cents next time I'm in a hardware aisle somewhere (if I don't find a couple in my toolbox already). The vise itself is literally rough around the edges – mostly the base – and that can be handles pretty quickly with an angle grinder. For the price, it's a good value, and a perfect fit for my small, benchtop drill press. I'm sure with a dab of grease every now and then, it'll outlive me.

Whats to say. It's a small drill press vice. Seems sturdy enough. Operates smoothly. Clamps firmly, and is very inexpensive. Job done.

Got this for a very small drill press.Out of the box, flip it over and inspect the two screws that allow the moving jaw to slide against the vise's body. I had to make and add a shim. The two screws were very loose and would have eventually fallen out.If you tighten the two small screws, the moving jaw cannot slide, so the screws are loose from the factory.Adding a small shim that's about 0.0600" thick and about 3/4" square, allows you to tighten the screws against their lock washers, while letting the moving jaw do its job.

This is a sturdy little vise for the drill press. It is also easy to move around and use other places.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I really like these for use with my vise. I’ve had brass jaws before and they worked well. This is the first poly jaws I’ve owned. If you are wanted to clamp big pieces of metal you might want to stay with brass or aluminum, but if you are working with lighter metals these work great.

The quality of the plastic is perfect but the glue used for the magnets isn't great.

Okay, when I bought this I knew I wasn't getting anything in the line of a machinist tool, I mean I only wanted to use it on my $57.00 8 inch Harbor Freight bench top drill press. But this vise didn't make the grade of a $4.00 Dollar Store item, really! I've spent better than an hour already reworking things on it just to get it to some standard of use. The screwed on jaw faces would not tighten up, even though the screws were tighten down, seems the poorly job on making the holes in the jaw plates (tampered) let the screw heads contact the jaw frame before actually drawing down on the plates. I had to cut off the eyelet end of 4 electronic wire connectors to use as spacers under the screw heads, then that left two screw needing the heads filed off to be flush with the jaw plates. Then on the under side there is a piece of metal plate screwed to the bottom of the moving jaw that acts as two things, one it holds the jaw into the frame of the vise, and it acts as a glide, well it needed shimmed, but NOPE! they tightened up the screws and just bent the plate, then backed the screws off a tad so the jaw would move, leaving the screws lose. I re-worked that by flattening out the little plate then finding some little washers to use for shims and then put blue loc-tite on the screw threads. The metal plate had been stamped out with jagged sharp edges facing upward to dig into the vise frame, I turned it over so the smooth side would better glide on the vise frame. This is as bad of a buy as I've came across in a long time. Now that said here is the good side of it, the 2-1/2" vise is perfect size for the 8 inch bench top drill press. So, I don't see anything else on Amazon at present to buy to replace it, so, I'll keep it, but I am looking for replacement. For this item I'd suggest looking for a better one and I'm not being picky. NOT A DEAL AT ANY PRICE!

Cheap, works great on my small bench top drill press that its intended for. Don't think about it, get this small one and then use some wood spacers to keep your work with no mar. It's not meant for precise work, just to hold stuff down. If you want precision tools, you'll need to spent way more for them like KURT stuff that I use for my milling machine.
