Makes loosening the oil filter so much easier. I use a ratchet and a 6" extension to easily access and loosen the filter and then remove it by hand. Now, if I could figure out how to keep the oil spilling from the filter from going 2 ways.... :-/

It slipped at first when I tried to remove the old filter. But then I cleaned the filter housing and tapped it on with a rubber mallet. I was then able to easily remove the tight filter.I also used to install the new filter (righty tighty) and went about 1/2 turn past initial seal contact.

it DOES NOT FIT 2008 S80 3.2 even though it says it fits 2008 S80 (BTW a 36mm socket fits)

This tool was a saver when changing my 2007 Hyundai Veracruz Limited oil filter. After several failed attempts slipping with a universal pliers type to remove the oil filter cap on top of the engine, I ordered this 3/8" socket type. It gripped and held tight without slippage during max pressure to loosen the cap. Also, adapts great to your torque wrench when replacing !Tip: for vehicles who may have a worn cap that may experience slight slip when removing. .. just wrap the cap top with a small piece of painters edge tape, replace the tool over the top of it... and it grips, holds and removes the cap like magic !!

I bought this as a backup and yes it is cheap but I am sorry it is also junk. It's insanely light and thin, the fit on the filter cap is poor, the fit of the 3/8" part is poor (both very loose). It's technically functional I guess but is just depressing to use.

The oil filter socket worked well on my Yamaha Vmax. Really nice if your filter is in a tight spot or close to your exhaust. Or if your backward like me it's nice to have a ratchet set to be sure you're turning it the right way. lifetime warranty on a solid tool. I'd recommend it %100

Once I put the 3/8 ratchet on this tool. It will NOT fit properly on the oil filter. It needed to be higher to allow the 3/8 ratchet to sit fully into the tool with enough room to allow the oil filter to fit fully in the tool.

Sigh - well... I guess it’s not a real reflection on the tool... it seems to be made ok... it just doesn’t fit. Is that the fault of the tool? Well... ummmm... no... I don’t think.but then again, I spent hours trying to figure out the size and number of flutes on my Chevy Silverado.in retrospect, I guess I should have wriggled under the truck with my vernier calipers and measured the thing... but I didn’t. These days, you can normally look up this info. Or, maybe the tool should have fitment info on it. “It fits these cars.... “ with a long list of vehicles it fits. I thought this was the right one, wasn’t certain, but the price was low so I took a chance. No dice. I wish the oil filter sizes for vehicles, and matching tool sizes was more clear and readily available. Rant over.
