It did get into the small space. It did pick up the relatively heavy object, and it came out of the hole.

If you are a mechanic don't buy it you not able to pick up a small 10mm socket with this. Maybe ok for super small screws but that's it. Also it's to short as well overall useless.

It's only with gods help on my side and this amazing tool the I was able to remove a piece of metal from an engine cylinder. I was trying to clean out an injector hole with another tool bought via Amazon which included some sort of metal butt plug which is supposed to stop crap falling down the nozzle hole, well after sitting the plugIn place I used the brush attached to a drill when I realised it seemed to travel further than expected I removed the tool only to discover the plug is missing, oh shizzle I thought this is not good. Trying to get a pice of metal about 6mm wide out of a hole about the same width, I'm fudged. I tried everything I had in my current arsenal of tools to no avail. I thought it's a head off job with a minimum cost of £180 head gasket and bolts. I saw this tool as a last resort.It came I tried it and no lie but in my second dip it actually came out, I was genuinely and utterly amazed it came out. All I can say is god had answered my prays.

I ordered this magnet because I dropped a bolt inside the engine somewhere inside the timing chain cover. This magnet was able to get that bolt out for me . This thing saved me hundreds of dollars. It’s pretty small but its tough and did the job.

I needed to rescue a tiny bolt that had fallen through the top case of a ceiling fan in the motor housing. I had to retrieve it blind and this narrow magnet tool did an incredible job of finding it and bringing it out. The bolt was trapped in the motor housing in such a way that it was grinding on the housing during operation of the fan rendering this ceiling fan useless. Don’t be fooled by the size. This magnet is super strong for its size and can grab into large pieces of metal.

I bought this because I accidentally dropped a butter knife down the drain of my kitchen sink and needed something small to fit down the drain to grab it.As soon as this arrived, I was sceptical that it was too big to fit down the drain , but it wasn't and I was able to grab the knife in 30 seconds and save me a lot of trouble removing the drain and saved me hundreds from having a plumber do it!This is going straight into the tool box for all my car and other repairs. I highly recommend.

My son dropped a small bolt into the engine of his dirt bike and this got it out. The magnet was not very strong, so it took some finesse, but it worked with minimal frustration. I would look for something stronger if your grabbing anything heavier than a 1/2 dollar.
