I bought this to keep my usually outdoor dog from scratching up my door since he’ll be spending more time inside when I’m gone. It was very easy to place on the door but my dog was able to remove most of it on the first day. There were pieces left but the majority of it was on the floor. He’s a very small dog, only about a foot long (dachshund) and by no means a strong dog.

My brother and his wife often come into town to visit. If they are staying overnight or for the weekend, they bring their two cats with them. The cats are normally well behaved but we noticed the last time we all went out that they scratched certain places in my house.I know they will be coming in several times over the next few months so I decided to be proactive. I got this Petslucent furniture protector. It is a plastic film that comes in a roll. One side is sticky and adheres to the wall/door/furniture and the other side is slippery.I attached it to the areas that seemed to be particularly attractive to the kitties the last time they were here. I firmly believe this will discourage them from scratch and chewing on those areas while we will be out.I tested the protector by lifting one section from the armchair I had attached it to. It came off easily and did not leave any residue on the fabric. As the protector is clear, I will leave it on all the time as it does not draw attention to itself.Now I won’t need to dread the next visit from my brother’s fur babies as my furniture is now adequately protected.The product also includes upholstery pins to help attach the protector to thick materials.

I like that this product protects my doors from my dogs' nails when they try to scratch my doors. It provides a thick protective layer and sticks onto painted wood doors very well. However I do find the plastic somewhat difficult to cut with scissors in a perfectly straight line. There is no backing/removable film on the sticky side of the plastic, so when you're cutting it with scissors you're basically having to hold the plastic with a sticky side exposed. It makes cutting a perfect straight line across the plastic very awkward. This product would be a lot better and easier to cut if the sticky side had a removable film on it, so that it's not sticky when you're cutting it. This way you can lay it down and just cut, and then when you want to install it on a door, you remove the film to expose the sticky side.

It took our new kitten several days to notice the scratching board and when he did, it was simply something to enjoy sitting on. Then suddenly he got the hang of it and now a couple of times a day really goes for it with his claws. Still having a go at the sofa so we will be complementing the board with a vertical scratching post.UPDATE: our kitten now uses it several times a day, it’s a brilliant product, we have one in the sitting room and in each bedroom and they are greatly saving the upholstery.

The cats seem to like these, one cat would use anything like this, only slight disadvantage not quite wide enough, another inch or two would be much much better, otherwise no complaints

I love this cat scratching board! It’s a good size for my 3 cats who use it every day. I have this on my autoship and will continue purchasing it.

Love! This actually completely stopped my kitty from scratching the carpet/ripping it up when she wanted in. Doesn’t have a bad smell and isn’t hard to apply. Easy to cut too.

for door digging dogs! Our pug is insane and when he knows we're opening literally ANY door, he's digging at the door frames and the door. I've just repainted all of our beautiful doors and saw this and thought I'd give it a try. I only put it on the frames for now, but it works like magic! No more paint peeling off! I'd rather not have to put it on the doors, hopefully I won't have to. ;) Great product!

My newest cat enjoys, sharpening her claws on the carpet and sometimes on my upholstery. A friend who has cats has used these scratching pads for some years so I thought I would try it. My fruit person thinks that it’s wonderful. She still occasionally tries to sharpen her claws where she shouldn’t, but I find that by spraying the pad with a bit of catnip spray, I can encourage her to stick to the pad almost entirely. Will certainly repurchase.

The protector sticks well and does a great job of protecting against cat scratches. However, you can’t just apply it where your cats have been scratching and expect them to stop. I initially put it on two corners of the couch where our cats were scratching, but they quickly moved to a different corner or started scratching below the protector.
