Quality, good size, not too thick not too thin, easy to work with given the material. Obviously there will be grain variety, but that will allow you to select for a good match for your project.

they were exactly what the description said they would be. I used them on stair railings and newel posts, and was able to find pretty close matches to the grain I was working with.

These were great! I drilled 1" holes in 4x8 oak beams with an Irwin forstner bit and lagged them to the ceiling with 5/16 grk lags. I then used these to fill the holes and with some good old fashion pounding these tapered plugs went in the holes tight and flush and looked mint!MUCH better than the too small 1" dowel cut endgrain plugs from Lowe's!

Recently I installed new hand rails using Zip Bolts to join corners. The Zip Bolts require one-inch holes on the bottom of the rail that are noticeable when a user runs their hand along the rail. These plugs turned out to be a perfect solution. They required a tiny bit of sanding to get them started into the hole but even without glue don't think they will fall out. After installing, they do require sanding down a bit to match the railing profile... easily accomplished with an orbital sander. Overall a huge time saving over making my own plugs.
