The plate wasn't surfaced ground down past the pitting. Both sides have several (3-4) pits in them. I'll need to have someone re-grind them before I can polish them. All in all, not worth the money.I'd like to add that after seeing my review, the seller offered me a $6 rebate. I asked them if what they were offering was to charge me $34 instead of $40 for something I couldn't use. They stopped communicating after that. My conclusion is that they're OK with dissatisfied customers.

I use bench blocks for stamping and work hardening metal. These looked like a good fit size-wise for some larger products I'm working on.They arrived today packed loosely in a box but bagged. The blocks were covered in oil. I removed the oil easily with paper towels. Many of the end edges are not smooth. They have sharper dings/ dents. The surface of the blocks are not a perfect mirror finish like high- end bench blocks. But, I'm not using these on silver so I'm not as concerned about perfect finishes.I only lightly tested the block by stamping some annealed copper. It didn't not mar the surface so hopefully that is a good indication these will stand-up to frequent use.All-in-all I give these 4 stars because of the rough edges. I'm not going to be handling these often, if I was, I might consider returning them, but for my needs, these are good enough.

this was more than I could have expected these are trully oueces of fine mirror finish mire like presioys metal than something youd hammer on so nice I hate to scratch them I highly recomend
