Unlike most of the reviewers of this product, I did read the description and made sure that I had the right thread type and this STILL didn't fit! my faucet is the 1 1/16 fine thread, just like the description states, but the item I received has a thread even smaller than that? I can't tell if it was just machined wrong, or if they are selling a 1in thread as a 1 1/16 in thread, but it just barely doesn't fit on my faucet. I had another brand of these on my faucet that is just old and the seals are broken in it, so I know I ordered the right size, but this isn't it. If the dimensions were correct, this thing would be great! The overall finish looks quite nice, but having it fit is the important part.

It's the perfect replacement for my leaky breaker, I don't know how it works, but when I close the water valve, it doesn't leak at all. The item describes it allows the faucet to drain automatically when closed. I think it works.

Works, although they are actually clones of the PK1380 (polished brass finish) not the PK1390 which is brass with a chrome finish. Spend a few bucks more on the geniune article, it is better quality.

This is a 3/4, standard hose, self draining vacuum break. This is solid brass, and the quality is good. This comes with everything pictured: the main body, 2 o rings, a strainer, Teflon tape, an Allen wrench, and two extra Allen screws. This really installs on a standard hose fitting. This will not leak under pressure. Once pressure is reduced, this will open and drain. That is good for colder weather. These are also a requirement if you plan to add a shower wand to a utility sink: a break should be there to prevent backflow. You'll need a sink adapter, but those are available. This functions will, and it is as described. Overall this seems like a good value.

Like others, I have found out the hard way this vacuum breaker is not designed for my setup, and that of many people out there. I am not going to second-guess the manufacturer and try to figure out why they would make such a nice piece of brass casting that has a standard hose thread on the male side, yet on the female side has a fine pipe thread, NOT the standard hose bib thread. So as much as I wanted a decent vacuum breaker to use on a hose bib that does not currently have one, I am not about to go out and buy adapters to make this work, unless I find one somewhere for a very reasonable price - since when is anything made out of solid brass reasonably priced these days?Unlike others, I am not marking down the manufacturer for my failure to read. I looked at the first photo, and unfortunately is does not show the threading in the female portion. However, the third photo does, and clearly states it is fine thread. So it was my failure, not the manufacturer's, and this is a very nice casting. Well finished, good quality threading, comes with extra washers and a line filter for sediment. And it comes with two little set screws, which I didn't quite see a use for, but I always can use them elsewhere. And the casting is clearly marked stating it is lead free, if you want to drink out of the hose the way we always used to, and some of us still do.So if you have need for this precise item, this is excellent quality. Just make certain it is what you want, or you will be giving it a one-star review and be a very frustrated person.

This is a well made self draining vacuum breaker. It is solid brass. Unfortunately, it did not fit my normal US outdoor faucet. The thread is too small. I’m sure that this would work great if it fits.
