I purchased these containers with the intent of using them in my hydroponics system as grow tank and nutriant tank, I run a water chiller to keep the water at precisely 62°. I had no idea that this type styrofoam was not water proof. I plumbed everything up, checked for leaks and water started showing up in places where no penatrations had been made.... got to researching it a little and there it was.... STYROFOAM IS NOT WATERPROOF...... at any rate, I bought some sealer and now all is good..... who knew it wasn't WATERPROOF...
