When the screen shows ----, the speaker is in standby mode. And if it is not the ST-BY button you manually pressed, means the Speaker needs to be charged.

I bought the OWO mini karaoke machine looking for a fun and portable way to enjoy some casual karaoke with friends and family. The small size and wireless capabilities were the main draws.The unit is definitely compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry around. The design is fairly simple, with a few buttons for controlling volume, playback, and other functions. It feels reasonably well-built for its size and price point, though it’s primarily made of plastic.Connecting to Bluetooth is straightforward. I was able to easily pair it with my phone and play music. The speaker quality is decent for its size. It’s not going to fill a large room with booming sound, but it’s loud enough for small gatherings or personal use. The bass is surprisingly present for such a small speaker, though it can get a bit distorted at higher volumes.The included microphone is basic, but it works. The sound quality from the microphone is okay for casual karaoke. It’s not studio-quality, but it’s clear enough for singing along to music. There's a slight echo effect which is common on these types of devices.The karaoke function works as expected. When you play music via Bluetooth, you can use the microphone to sing along. There’s a volume control for both the music and the microphone, which is helpful for balancing the sound.Now for the downsides: The biggest limitation is the microphone quality. It’s definitely the weakest link in the system. The sound can be a bit muffled, and it’s prone to feedback if the microphone is too close to the speaker.Another thing to note is that the battery life is decent but not exceptional. I got a few hours of use on a full charge, but it’s not something you can use for an extended party without recharging. Also, the instructions are not very clear.

The speaker is loud and high quality, with the microphone having very little latency in my testing. It is slightly smaller than I had pictured, but that is honestly a point in its favor as its very portable. Very good product, 5/5

I absolutely love this portable Bluetooth karaoke speaker! It’s incredibly versatile, offering both wired and wireless modes, which makes it perfect for different setups. The sound quality is fantastic with three 3-inch tweeters and a 1.5-inch bass speaker that deliver great surround sound effects. I got this primarily to use as a portable Bluetooth speaker, but I tested it as a Karaoke machine, too.In my experience you can predict whether a speaker will sound decent or not by it's weight. This is a relatively heavy unit for its size, and that bodes well. Sure enough, once I charged it and tested it out it sounds pretty good for its size. Obviously you're not going to reproduce much bass on a speaker this small, but compared to similar units it sounds quite good.Speaking of size, the dimensions listed are accurate, but I laughed at the picnic photo which made the unit look about twice as large as it actually is. Personally I think the size is a pretty good compromise between easy portability and good sound.If you're a Karaoke fan, having the microphone stored inside the unit is a big plus. Of course, that takes up space where bigger speakers or a larger rechargeable battery could be. It's a trade-off. The microphone handle is plastic but doesn't feel cheap, and the top of the microphone appears to be aluminum. Sound and range are decent. Note that on my unit the delay/echo was set comically high by default, but can be turned down with the remote.The remote is a nice touch and allows several features that can't be accessed on the unit itself. Unfortunately I'm not sure what all of them do. Documentation is sparse, and is really one of the weak points of this product. For example, there's an "EQ" button but no indication of what the three settings are. Just pick one you like the sound of, I guess. Similarly, the "Sing" button removes the vocals from songs, and does so pretty admirably, but seems like an odd label.I really like the fact that the unit is rechargeable and that it has line-in connectors. I still have some old legacy devices, and occasionally I like to listen to them and most BT speakers these days don't allow any wired connections.
