I purchased this second skull to protect my head from impacts. This offered me no protection that I could notice. Priced very high for such an inferior product. Do not waste your time or money.

The headband is too thin, and does not offer any protection. Regardless the material it is made of. I returned the item.

Overall: Recommended! An essential gear item to protect the noggin from the soccer ball bangingAh the good ole days of getting whacked in the face by a large projectile launched by ye old goalie 50 meters away. They didn't have these back in my day or if they did no one offered my team any but it makes so much sense especially with all the knowledge about concussions. If you have never routinely headed a soccer ball at midfield to redirect to the forwards several dozen times in a game then you won't get how huge this is for protecting your brain. The idea is accomplished well here and distributes the impact around your head rather than through it. Works much better than just a thick headband : )

This is a well-designed head protection device for soccer players. I ordered this for a 10-year-old, so I ordered size small. The listing didn't say this, but a size small is indeed a youth size according to the package, so that worked out. If you're an adult, order a larger size (medium/large or XL). Measure your noggin 1" above the eyebrows, and look at the size chart. I tried it on this size small one as an adult woman, and it was a tad tight though not unbearable; and the kid says it's comfy. If your kid is still in a youth size hat, this is the size to order, per the package. This headband is super stretchy and has several segments that have thin, yet dense, padding. The padding is no more than, I'd say, 1/4 inch thick. The front segment feels like it has some kind of very thin hard plastic at the front, and dense yet thin foam behind that. The side pieces don't seem to have the hard plastic part but are equally dense. I can totally see how this would protect the head when heading the ball, and also from unexpected side or behind-the-head blows that hit in the right spot. It's about time that kids in soccer had some kind of head protection. I'm all for this, and thankfully the kid also thinks it's cool and different and sporty, so she doesn't mind wearing it at all. With all the new information coming out about head injuries caused by concussions etc. in youth sports, I don't see why every kid shouldn't be wearing something like this. It looks like a regular headband, so it's not conspicuous, and every little bit of head protection helps. When she outgrows this, we'll order another one. Can't be too protective of your child's brain.

This is the best design out there. I've had several concussions playing college soccer, and now have to worry about head impact... so I've tried every device out there. I hated the original devices that looked like rugby helmets. Then the line of padded headbands came out. However, they are too stiff, uncomfortable, and although petty, look dorky. This protective headband is the BEST one by far. It has lots of stretch to it, so it's very comfortable to wear. It has a hard liner (plastic?) inside the front portion to protect for headers. AND because it's more flat/thin, it actually looks good while you wear it. I would wear this, and promote everyone wear it, even if you haven't had concussions.

This protective sports band does its job. It protects my son's head from impact from a soccer ball. It fits snugly so that it won't fall off; however, it's uncomfortable for him.

Wanted something to help protect my head while playing in an adult indoor soccer league. This headband works pretty well, it is divided up into a couple of protective segments with very stretchable fabric In between each. The white lines on the inside provide some stickiness that keeps it from moving, I don’t notice it during games. I tried to upload some pictures to show how it is laid out. I feel like it does a decent enough job, about as good as you can get with something that still looks like a normal headband and not like you are wearing some protective brace around your head. It says not to put it in the washer but I put it in there on delicate and it hasn’t had any problems. Only thing is, I wish the brand graphic wasn’t so prominent up front but it’s not a big deal.
