We're two months in and around 2,000 miles driven with no problems! Direct fit replacement with no issues for our 2013 Ford Explorer AWD 3.5L NA vehicle. Our vehicle, without turbos at least, I was able to replace this part in my garage WITHOUT needing to drop the engine cradle. I have heard that the Eco-Boost, you might need to at least loosen the cradle bolts to get the PTU out. Not the case with our vehicle, it was definitely tight, but with a little wiggle here and a little wiggle there, she slipped in and out of place as needed.

I am a very meticulous mechanic of 15+ years. I performed a break in fluid service even though it's not required. Used the best of the best amsoil gear oil and still developed noise within weeks. The attached photo shows fluid condition after a few weeks and keep in mind I performed a break in fluid service. Would not recommend. Had to do the job again with a genuine Ford part. Now everything is quiet as it should be. Do yourself a favor spend double the money and get a quality part from your first dealer. Service every 20-30k and never have a PTU issue again.
