I have a couple of devices with fans that are VERY loud. I used these speed controllers to slow them down and quiet them. The only hassle is that I had to cut the plug off and hardwire the fan to this controller. The knob works smoothly. The holes in the PCB are small, so it's easiest to mount it by the knob - which does come with a hold down screw.

I tried a bundle of potentiometers before trying this double pack, which tells you the first try didn't exactly meet my desired outcomes. They were too rough, with inconsistent tapering across the batch, but worse was this applied to the same unit's dials. I could never duplicate the speeds from one turn to the next, very frustrating indeed. They gave me no control over an old 12v computer fan that I recently modified into an in-line room exhaust fan. These are 2 for about the same cost as the previous 20 unit batch, so those were quantity over quality, whereas this 2-pack is quality over quantity.I'll take the latter any day because these actually work and they earned the spot in the finished installation. The control has better sensitivity and a wider range between off and maximum, better yet, these characteristics are consistent for both units. Additionally, these have an off switching position that clicks when it's engaged by turning the dial just beyond its lowest point. I didn't know this after having already installed a dedicated switch, it is redundancy with this project, but saves me a switch and some time for a future build. These also have a board mounted red led diode that glows when powered up, of course it's hidden inside my fan housing, but could be incorporated into clever designs that incorporate it somehow. Anyway, I like having the control I wanted from the get-go, low and quiet for all day fresh air exchange, but speed it up when soldering, painting, or any other task that needs the safety of the fastest air flow ventilation. These are plug and play too, with simply labeled, no solder connections. You just need a tiny phillips for the built in compression terminal harness, super easy and impossible to mess up.Overall, these are the better choice compared to any quantity packs, I'll recommend because their quality and performance is worth avoiding the frustration of glitching alternatives. Best regards and thank you.

The LED indicator on the dial makes it super easy to see powers up, is a total win. What really blew me away was finding a 3D print file for a housing that fits perfect; it takes this already slick controller to the next level. Whether you're fine-tuning your DIY projects or just geeking out over precise control for your low voltage DC motors, this controller has got you covered. Overall, it's a great blend of functionality and mod-friendly design that's perfect for any tech enthusiast.Needed a quick cooling solution and had one up in 15 minutes, rock solid.

This switch has four mounting holes, one at each edge of the PCB. No mounting screws are included, but it does come with a nut and washer for panel mounting. The switch has an on/off detent, and can be rotated ~300 degrees; rotation is very smooth. There is a red power LED which gets brighter as more power is applied. The edges of the PCB are smooth, and the printing is crisp and legible. Wiring your device to the controller is painless, as each screw terminal is marked with "power" or "motor", as well as polarity. PCB is ~1 3/8" wide and ~1 1/2" deep. I tested the switch using a hobby motor powered by 8x1.5V AA batteries, and was pleased with the performance of the motor on both acceleration and deceleration.

This is a nice pair of DC motor speed controllers - I have them hooked to a 12-volt power supply and it smoothly controls my hobby motors from very slow to full speed just fine. I don't hear any "whine" that you sometime hear with pulse-width modulated speed controllers, so that's nice too. As expected, the PWM chip doesn't get hot at all. A very nice pair of controllers in a small circuit board!

Very nice and compact PCB assembly and very easy to use.I use it on a small 12Vdc fan so I can adjust the amounr of air flow as needed for cooling my electronics devices, it works gerat.Gerat deal for what you get for less than $10.

Great price for 2 PWM controllers for controlling the speed on DC motors. From 1.8 to 12V at 2 amps it will work great for those specs. The soldering and design look fine and they are nice and compact, not taking up much space in your design. Easy to mount in an enclosure with just one hole drilled to fit the potentiometer shaft. East to wire up with the terminal blocks. Recommended.
