After years of my sprinklers sinking into the earth and becoming less and less effective I went and spent quite a few dollars with my local sprinkler company to fix the issue; now several hundred lighter in the pocket book and I'm helping rocks and cement grow. I should have just bought these and did it myself - the effort is to replace a sprinkler head is very low, anyone with a shovel can do this. The sprinkler body on these is quite tall which is both good for the head get to ground level and has the added benefit of a longer pop up head ensuring that it is well above the grass when they are running. You have a number of inserts that let you customize the spray angle (high angle/low angle) and the volume of water that is dispersed when running. There's a lot of options so be sure to reference the chart on the rainbird website as the right insert choice is heavily influenced by your systems water pressure. Just make sure to secure the insert with the screw otherwise they will shoot off into the yard when the water is running! You'll need a fine tip flat head screw driver to do this.NOTE: These have a 3/4 inch thread so it may require a 3/4 to 1/2 inch adapter. For some reason these are uncommon at both of the big home improvement stores. You can cobble together parts to make it work from the box stores but it adds quite a bit of height to the whole package. I found these on Amazon and they are both cost effective and exactly what you need for most common home sprinkler systems.ADAPTER: 10PCS 3/4 Inch Male Thread to 1/2 Inch Female Threaded PVC Pipe Bulk Fittings Reducer Bushing Coupling Pipe Adapter Connectors HE034(3/4"x1/2"

Replaced a Rain Bird popup LG3 with the 5000. The LG3 went back and forth so fast, did a terrible job watering the lawn. To me looked like it was wasting water. But the Rain Bird 5000 is the best sprinkler I've ever used, and I've used and replaced a bunch of 'em over the years. It smoothly and slowly rotates back and forth and does a great job soaking the lawn. Highly recommended.

These Rainbird sprinkler heads were precisely what I needed with the ability to shut the water flow off entirely with a simple, small screwdriver. Great products, I would buy them again.

They work exactly as expected an I like the ability to stop the water flow on them individually.

Terrible quality. Ordered 10 units - all nozzle sets were damaged and broken off their trees. Some trees broken. No instructions. No Rainbird packaging making them suspect as even being Rainbird. Do not buy.

These are first-class sprinkler heads. I have been replacing the SEVEN! brands of heads scattered throughout my 120-head system, and these rain Bird 5004's are by far the best of any I have taken out or have tried previously. I especially like the "rain curtain" feature, as it definitely improves the evenness of the water distribution across the entire radius. The grass immediately showed improvement over the old brands/types. The only suggestionI would make is to be sure that the screw that holds the nozzle in place is screwed in far enough to do the job...I failed to do that early on in the project and the nozzles went flying when the system came on! Duh!

Excellent purchase, The description was a little off because they promised a Sprinkler hut Keychain flashlight that I never received however they substituted the Flashlight for the Sprinkler adjusting tool which was more important to me so although they were off on the description they get high marks for picking a better substitute.
