These rain bird heads improve the distribution and coverage over my older spray patterns.

These sprinkler heads work really well, are very quiet (almost can't hear them), and seem to work better if you have lower than ideal water flow.

I found these to be easy to adjust. There are two settings, one for distance and the other for location (45-270 degrees). Once you figure it out, it takes about one minute to adjust each nozzle. Sprays how I want it to, and where I want the water. The water seems to evaporate less than the original spray heads. It is also “prettier” to watch if you have time to stare at sprinklers.

This is definitely the way to go in Phoenix. It lays down a lot of water and a short amount of time and it doesn't mist at all!

These rotate much better and more reliably than the Hunter brand nozzles which I've had nothing but trouble with (stop rotating). However they don't broadcast as far as the Hunter nozzles with similar distance rating.

I have the the first gen RNH in my front yard and they were flawless for 15 years . I started replacing them with these new VANs and they are a great improvement. When I landscaped my backyard I thought I’d try the Hunter MP1000 heads because they were half the cost. After 4 years I’ve had to replace 2-3 every year.I’ve finally am tired of spending time having to check them when I see dead spots .So I’m switching all to the rain bird VAN. It’s not cheap but in this case you definitely get what you pay for.

I was using Hunter MP 3000 rotators, but some of them stopped rotating after about 6 months. This was probably because of hard water. I soaked them in white vinegar and that helped, but who knows how long that will last. The R-Vans were advertised to throw 17' to 24', which is similar to the Hunter, so I decided to try them. The R-vans rotated fairly fast, had nice thick streams and were easy to adjust, but the throw was nowhere near 17'-24' feet. My pressure gauge showed 40 psi at the hose bib next to the valves, and the wide open stream was 15' maximum. I have a large lawn and these did not provide sufficient coverage. Rather than return them, I'll find another place to use them. Unless your heads are only 10' apart, you should try something else.
