There were two pinhole leaks in an irrigation pipe located 6" under the surface. I cleared about a foot of dirt, 6", above and below the pipe. I cut out .75" around the leak, leaving a gap. I slid each end into the cut pipe and tightened each about as tight as I could get it with 75 year old man strength. Turned on the water, which has fairly high water pressure and viola, no leaks.

You definitely need them if you have sprinkler lines and do a lot of lawn work. We accidentally cut through one of our lines and this is what kept it together so it won’t leak.

I have trouble with pushing drip system devices onto the tubing. This one made it easy to connect two tubes. Got some spares!

I've tried a lot of different kinds of connectors to join two pieces of 1/2" or 5/8" drip irrigation tubing and this is my favorite. Easy to use and works great.

My gardens have drip irrigation that was installed over 10 years ago. Between raccoons and other critters chewing holes in the tubing, and old tubing spontaneously developing leaks, split seams, etc., I go thru about 10 to 15 of these a year. They work great when I have to cut out a couple of inches or a couple of feet of tubing with holes in it and reconnect the two sides or splice in a replacement section.

I've tried insert and two hose clamps and still had a leak. This is the sure easy way to fix . Only problem is it is a trick to hide in the mulch or pine straw.

Very excited to find this threaded drip hose connectors. There are other types of connectors but they are not very good. Seating a compression joint is difficult. They blow off easily and you only realize you have a leak when plants die. Now I find a threaded system. Set it uo and it holds. I will also duct tape on the joints so the joint stays threaded tight. This is more expensive. Quit buying the cheapest joints and for mildly more expensive joints you get something that works well.
