RARE super high quality Davis Creek rainbow obsidian. These are even more stunning when turned in the light.
The rainbow obsidian deposits of Davis Creek, California are the "gemstones" of rainbow obsidian and world famous. In 2018, the US Forest Service shut down all mining at Davis Creek. The only way to get this material is if you are friends with "the guy" that was mining at Davis Creek for 40 years. He has a stockpile he mined before the location was shut down.
You will receive one specimen from the lot shown in the photos that is 2 1/2 inch to 3 inch and weighing 2 to 3 ounces. Every piece has a different combination of colors and you will receive a beautiful piece.
Healing Properties
Rainbow Obsidian also called Heaven Eye; a black or deep brown Obsidian displaying iridescent bands of red, blue, gold, violet and/or green when polished and exposed to bright light. Rainbow Obsidian is gentler than Black Obsidian, with strong protective properties. It is an excellent tool for facilitating a purposeful search of one’s psyche to find the root causes of emotional traumas and distresses, and to cut ties with the past. It is ideal for dissolving outmoded genetic patterns and karma, severing the cords of old love, and releasing hooks that others have left in the heart.
Mineral Description
Obsidian is an igneous rock that forms when molten rock material cools so rapidly that atoms are unable to arrange themselves into a crystalline structure. It is an amorphous material known as a "mineraloid." The result is a volcanic glass with a smooth uniform texture that breaks with a conchoidal fracture.
