This toy actually works. The battery life is awesome and it is amazing quality. It charges fast and is a lot of fun. I was able to use it to pick up dirt and small rocks.

The metal shovel feels sturdy, and the controls are easy to use, making digging and lifting fun. It works great on different surfaces like sand and gravel, and the rechargeable batteries last a long time. The lights and sounds add to the excitement, and the rotating cab makes it feel just like the real thing. A perfect gift for any little construction fan. Its for sure a very nice value choice.

The remote doesn’t function correctly after two months of use (maybe a dozen times). Lost some of its controls on both joysticks.

The excavator is quite large, but lighter than expected because of its mostly plastic construction.The tracks move the vehicle in a very realistic fashion, and can deal with things like grass without problems. There are separate controls for the forward/backward motion, turning left/right, cab rotation left/right and the bucket arm movement up/down. The bucket movement allows for some digging, however it is not fully controllable. The whole arm just goes through a specified digging motion but there is no separate control over the bucket itself. Not suitable for serious digging, but you can pick up things from one pile and move them to another.There are two lithium batteries included. A fully charged one lasted for over 30 minutes of playing with the toy in my backyard and the digger didn't show signs of slowing down. Two of them should be more than enough. The remote takes two AA batteries (not included).Sound effects are rather good, but the engine sound could be improved - I find it a bit droning and repetitive. If you find the sound annoying then they can be disabled.Overall this is a really cool toy, and will definitely be a hit for any child who likes construction machines! At the time of the review it's on sale for just $35 and that's a great value.

I was really excited when we got this remote control excavator! Originally I thought it would be fun for our nephew when he visits. But upon opening, I realized it is probably more fun for my husband! He plays with it all the time and loves being able to pick up small items and transfer them. It works and functions just like a real excavator! Our nephew is still a little young to manage the remote, but he really enjoys watching my husband and will most likely enjoy it a lot more when he learns how to use the remote control. The quality is very nice and looks way more expensive than it is! I also think it is super cool that it has a little light on it. Overall, a wonderful product for any age.

This was an awesome toy for my 7-year-old, my 2-year-old also ends up using it as well great for indoor use and some dry outdoor use, maybe a sand pit or something. I did knock a star off because i feel like it could have had a rechargeable battery or something but it uses AA and the batteries die really fast so it will sit a lot because I cant put batteries in it all the time.

Great gift for a young person between 8 and 13, I like the way it traverses terrain and that it is rechargeable. The size of the excavator is small not a large excavator the materials are a mix of mostly plastic and metal. It comes with everything you need to play with the toy. Rechargeable batteries, two of them, and it is even supplied with the remote batteries which very few provide this. It is a great value. Comes in a retail box and is highly giftable. Makes a great gift for a young tween or kid.

I honestly didn't have high hopes for this digger, but I gave it a shot because my son loves heavy machinery toys. It's lightweight, but has a good sturdy feel to it. The controls are responsive and it's easy to control with the remote. The sound get a little annoying to me, but my son has so much fun following the dogs around the house and scooping food out of their bowls!

Pretty neat excavator. It won't actually pick anything up but it's pretty fun to pretend.Comes with a few extra batteries so you can charge one and play with one.The metal engine cover is more of an annoyance than feature. Just flops around most of the time. The child is going to pick up the excavator and move it around and it just gets in the way.I like the metal bucket but I am concerned it'll scratch things.Easy to control. The cab swivels, there's a forward and reverse option for the arm. It's nice and slow and is easy to pilot for children.Why did I know off a star? This thing makes noise. LOUD noises if you push certain buttons. I don't particularly want to take this apart to cut the speaker but I am going to have to soon if my kids don't stop pushing the button.

This is a nice looking, functional remote control digger for kids to enjoy. It has enough power (supplied by rechargeable battery) to run through all the motions of digging, spinning, and driving. But the connection between the unit body and the track base has some wobble in it that is noticeable when swinging sideways. It has an engine compartment with a prop so you can pretend to work on it, but I would consider that a little too fragile for preschool kids. I suspect that isn't going to last long if my 4 year old plays unattended. One other thing that I found tricky was getting the rechargeable battery into the compartment provided. The connection is easy to click together, but you have to arrange the wires and connector just right to get the battery cover to close. It took me some trial and error to be able to get the cover closed enough to accept the screw that holds it.A bonus is that this toy came with the 2 AA batteries needed to run the remote. And an extra battery and charging cable for a spare so you can charge it while running down the other. Nice when you have a number of kids taking turns playing with this popular toy.
