Fits my Mavic rims and easy to install. Seems as good a quality or better than what I replaced.

Went on without a hitch for me. I used a tubeless valve to hold it in place. I worked it into the rimbed by hand & then used a single thin tire lever to fit the last few inches. Once in place it doesn't slip around & looks like it will last for several years.Update: Tpu inner tube do not play well with the rimstrips. It braids them & cause failures that do not happen with butyl inner tube. I've removed them for the short term & taped the rimbeds.

These are good rim strips to protect your innertubes from being damaged by your spoke heads. The rim strips are made from cloth and while they do stretch, it does take a little effort to get them over the wheel. I used a plastic automotive panel tool to get the strips centered and over all the spoke heads. I think these strips will last a long time and they also look very nice. Once installed, these rim strips do not move and given that they are made of synthetic cloth, they should not deteriorate over time like rubber rim strips do.

The only reason for 4 stars rather than five is that I haven't yet ridden a few hundred miles to confirm how well it does its job - that, plus the fact that they can be a bit of a challenge to install the first time you work with one. They appear to be super-tough and clearly up to the job of protecting the tube, but they aren't as "stretchy" as I expected. Of course they have to be tight, since without any sort of adhesive they might move around, but they put up a fight until you get the hang of installing them.As others have suggested, I stretched the tape before installing, which helped a bit, and used a tapered pin punch inserted through the rim's valve hole to hold the tape in place. I then worked the tape equally down each side of the rim from that point, stretching it as I went. If you work it in only one direction, the tape manages to move sideways and the hole in the tape won't be perfectly aligned when you remove the punch, or whatever you've placed through the rim to keep it lined up.The last section opposite the valve hole is the toughest, of course, but with firm pressure from both thumbs you can stretch it up and over the side of the rim and it will "snap" into place. At that point, it's mainly in the rim channel, but as I rotated the wheel there were sections that weren't perfectly aligned in the bottom of the channel all the way around.I used my fingernails to lift the edge of the low sections, carefully inserted a small flat blade screwdriver under the edge and, holding the tape between my thumb and the screwdriver blade, pulled the tape slightly in the direction it needed to go. I did four wheels and by the second or third wheel it was going faster.Overall, I like the tape very much. It doesn't leave adhesive on the rim and since it's so tough and taut, it seems like it might do a better job of protecting the tube from the sharp edges of the spoke holes.

These things are pretty rad. First time using the other day and I liked them. Seem very durable. I still prefer cloth but these certainly saved some money. Needed a hand getting them on as they are very tight but they fit some old school 27s just fine. A tip: once you have them on, they will not be centered and some parts will be folded over. use a tire lever or screwdriver to pry up one edge and slip a chopstick under the strip. The chopstick will rest on the edges of the rim. Then roll the chopstick around the rim to reposition and flatten out the strip! Got mine seated perfectly that way. Good luck!

Like the title says, these are extremely cool! I've had my hard tail for a year and a half and it came with those plastic feeling thicker rim liners- you know, the ones with the sharp edges (huh?) that have no grip essentially so they slide over to one side or another. This can be dangerous and on a few occasions when changing my tubes I found it had slid all the way up the side taking up the space under the rim lip so it was basically flush. No lippy, no catchy. Had problems getting the tire's bead seated a few times for about 5 inches as I inflated and this must've been why. If you don't catch it, it could be bad but I digress...Got these today (they arrived in 2 or 3 days New York to Phoenix) and they are GREAT! If I had to imagine the material this type of thing would be made out of, it would be this stuff. Its almost like a thinner keychain lanyard (same type of material) with a slight rubbery/plasticy feel so it grips pretty well. No stretch really so it should last a long time and it looks cool too (though no one will ever see it lol). Just clean your rims first and they should stay put real well. I don't know why some reviews are saying it didn't seem like it would fit assuring you that it will as you keep working it, seemed perfect to me the whole time- of course it's gonna be tight getting it over the outside of the rim, it's the circumference of the center channel:) I was expecting a little struggle because of those reviews, but it went right on with no problem. I'm guessing that some of those are from people who don't do this type of thing very often so fear not, they'll fit if it's a 700c road or 29er.The width is perfect at 17mm- I measured and they come in right at 11/16" so almost 3/4" wide. For a reference I have WTB FX28 29er wheels- they're 28mm from outside to outside- if your wheels are anywhere in there you're good. Really, I believe these would work for any bike rim of this diameter, but incase you want to check and make sure.Took a ride on them today with no issues of course so snag these if you need them, it was one of the best prices (considering delivery charges from these non amazon bike shops-which is rediculous because of course they'll use usps for this teeny pkg) and Ritchey is awesome so you can't go wrong;)
