Strong, no doubt. Batteries don't last. Fully functional one week.

Overall, the quality and sturdiness are good. The alarm is loud enough to run off potential thievery. Comes with an extra battery pack, which is nice. It does take 6 hearing aid style batteries, though. We'll see how long they last. Did a quick check to see about convenience of battery change: screws are tiny and a bit awkward, but not impossible. Make sure to note the position of the battery holder when you remove. The wires inside the case near the battery pack are super small, and stick out, so be extremely careful not to break them off.The biggest issue are thus: This lock is not made for bicycles exactly. The holes on bicycle discs are much smaller than the lock pin. I am able to use some different cutouts that are on the disc to facilitate locking, but your discs may be different. It locks in, but it's just sort of hanging there loosely. Secondly, the pouch they give you is absolutely garbage. I'm not sure how you even affix it to a bike frame that would hang in a way to make it not hang awkward or otherwise be able to get the lock out without removing the bag entirely. Also, the web strap is some of the cheapest I've ever seen. The fastener is cheap thin plastic that broke the first time I tried to get the bag on the bike. Have an alternative place to put the lock, is what I'm saying. All in all, it will do the job, but you'll have to find ways around the issues I mentioned.

It comes with a soft case for storage. The chrome finish looks and feels like it will be durable. Comes with two keys. Safety throttle tether cable is just long enough for my VFR, a cruiser type bike could be stretched tight. There is an audio alarm that beeps when the lock is moved in the locked position...the sound level is not very loud imho. I'm also not exactly sure how it operates since there are no instructions include. The packaging is all in Chinese. Overall it should serve its purpose to deter theft...

I bought this alarm to use in combination with my chain lock for quick trips to stores. I wanted a secondary lock with an alarm and this one fits the bill. The lock is well made and easy to use on newer bikes with disk brakes. Just align the locking pin with a hole in the rear or front brake's disk, press the exposed top of the pin till it stops, making sure the pin enters the hole in the brake, and a beep will sound signifying the alarm is set. Remove the key by turning and pulling out. Attach the spring cord to the handlebar grip to remind you to disconnect the lock when getting ready to leaveAny movement of the lock or wheel will sound the alarm. It should alert anyone nearby that someone is messing with the bike. The lock comes with a canvas case with strap and can be attached to the frame near the handlebar. It's small and light and easy to carry. This lock, coupled with a cable or chain, is probably ok to use for securing your bike if running into a store, doing errands, or grabbing lunch at a restaurant. I would never leave it unattended for any length of time. I've seen video of this lock being broken with a hammer and screwdriver and chains and cables are easily cut.It works fine as an alarm and keeping perps from just walking away with your bike.
