Works fantastic for connecting retro consoles, computers, and modern consoles into a single output. I use this to combine the audio from my PC, Switch, SNES, and NES (with individual audio control) to my single pair of headphones at my desk. A problem I was having with some of the cheaper line mixers for this purpose was LOUD buzzing, a constant feedback that scaled up with volume and was sometimes accompanied by more buzzing on top of that randomly. This one was more than double the price of all the ones I've tried, but bit the bullet on it and I have not had that issue with this one. I tried a passive mixer as well thinking that would help, but it was too quiet due to being unpowered. I guess the saying "buy once cry once" applies here. There is some loud feedback when a knob is set to full volume and no audio is playing, but all of my inputs are at

I am a little disappointed that this mixer didn't indicate it was a line level mixer since I was looking specifically for an audio mixer that could take audio output levels from headphone/speaker outputs of different devices, and drive a pair of low impedance headphones.Points are given for the better than usual quality in manufacture. While it does the job I want it to do, I worry that I'm pushing the amplifiers harder due to the impedance mismatches. Noise injection from this device is minimal, but if you're looking for studio quality, you might want to look elsewhere and expect to spend more. It does seem to be able to drive headphones nicely without having to set the audio pots to 11.Points are taken away since the product description implied this was an audio mixer for headphone/speaker outputs, not line level as the documentation that came with this mixer indicates. Take away another point for the noisy wall wart power supply. I had to install three Mix 31 snap-on chokes on the power cord to remove the noise hash from the switching circuit in the power supply that was getting into the audio amplifier circuit. Rhetorically, why build a high quality mixer in the U.S.A., then power it with a cheap wall wart from China?Would I go out of my way to buy this product again? Possibly. It's more expensive than other line level mixers found on Amazon, and it lacks features the other quality mixers offer at lower prices. If you like 'Made in America" on the label, then you will like this. Just be warned that the power supply comes from China, and it is noisy.

Amazon sells a number of audio mixers, but most of them appear to be designed for sound stage use. Most have 1/4 inch phone plugs, and many are mono. This is the only stereo device I found that interchangeably offers RCA and 1/8" (computer compatible) plugs, and has an powered amplifier. This one is perfect for connecting a bunch of devices like computers, phones, and other devices (like the Amazon Dot) to a single pair of speakers.I purchased this mixer to share my Bose speakers between 4 devices w/o switching between them. The devices are: (1) computer (2) Tivo to my monitor (3) Amazon Dot (4) Chromecast audio. All four can play at the side time or individually w/o my touching any controls on the mixer. The 4 devices have slightly different output levels and impedances, so it's great to have volume controls for each. I run 3 of my devices at 1/4 volume and one at 1/2 volume. With those settings, the speaker volume adjusts from a whisper to full volume w/o noticeable hiss, hum or distortion. My one criticism is that the inputs are on one side of the box, and the outputs are on the opposite side. As a result the mixer sits sideways on my desk with both the input and output jacks sticking out on the sides. It would have been a lot nicer if all the connections were in back. A rear-jack configuration would take up less desk space, and be a lot more attractive, To compensate, I hide the whole thing behind a monitor. I would rather have it off the side of the monitor, with the volume controls accessible. I like it a lot that the box has both RCA and mini-jacks, but I would prefer having just one type of jacks and all the jacks out the back. While the jack placement could be better, everything else is great, so this product deserves 5 stars.

This thing is awesome. I needed to output audio from a Mac and an Amiga as well as two external SCSI CD-ROM drives all going to one set of PC speakers. Switchboxes will not cover what I wanted to do as I needed two sources working at the same time (ie: Amiga and audio CD's or Mac and Audio CD's) and there aren;t a whole lot of options out there. But this works, and works well. I opted for a powered model and I am glad I did. I get much more volume than I do with the standard speaker volume and it sounds fantastic. It's pricey and I am sure other people are purchasing this for completely different purposes (like mixing) but it works for what I need it for and it is a really sweet little well built box that is capable of doing a lot of stuff. Really happy with this purchase.
