I like to put my hands on the concrete sometimes—and sometimes it happens anyway—so I tried out a pair of Rook gloves.- good amount of padding on palm for moderate protection and reasonable flexibility- stitching is only starting to fray in spots after a few months of use skating and cycling—they’re holding up pretty well with some abuse- would love to get reproductions of the Arlo-style wristguards in the future

These are snug, so maybe size up - but they are sadly not so well made, breathable and the padding has already been exposed.Follow up edit - Rook should charge me for the 2nd pair. I broke the L's in one session as noted, mind you - I typically wear M gloves. However, Rook reached out and immediately replaced the product with an XL without headache or hesitation. And these have saved me already, without indication of high stress or sheer.Great product if sized appropriately, great company - worth your moneyPs feel free to charge me again guys

but they deff DO NOT hold up like the original pawns...the hands padding shreads easy...hopefully they change it to kevlar like the originals.

First off, Ive had the pawn Jon Julios which almost fell apart and then I lost, then found a single Mike Scott glove, which I’ve been using with the Hillbilly left glove since 2020. I’ve been searching and hoping for SOMEONE to recreate something close to the Jon Julio Pawns I had back in the late 90s.First, these are amazing, though I need to return for a larger size, I’d say these are very close to the OG gloves, but take things a step further in the best ways:- removable right and left splints, but the best part is how easy this is- the padding on the inside palm and fingers is more substantial than the pawns and close to or better than the Julio’s- the abrasion protection on the palm also covers way more than mike Scott and up there with the Julios- the liner for the most part seems more of a better grade of fabric that feels great- the wrap stitching is is double, compared to a single stitch on pawn; however the wrap itself is around 1/8 inch wider on the pawn compare to the rookOne thing I’ll mention, which I wouldn’t say is a deal breaker but more just what comes with producing anything: the right handed rook glove stitching where the wrap connects popped, when I was putting on to try for size. I’ll echo another that if they make another batch, this part of the glove should be reinforced with extra stitching. Also, the wrap could stand to be a bit wider. All in all, I plan to likely order a second pair in large, once I’ve exchanged my current pair for a large and assuming the large fits better.Again, great glove and the cons were negligible, and not a deal breaker AT ALL! I grabbed these Wrist guards because I loved the original brand Pawn. These are a great tribute to that brand. The measurements are pretty accurate, the quality is solid, and they look very nice! Having worn them a few times, they do the job well.

I was a huge Pawn fan boy in the 90s and glad to see a company continue the spirit of Pawn. I'm right on the edge of size S and M but went with S. Fits nice and snug, and the quality of the glove is great. The palm padding provides plenty of protection. Be careful, the top split is flipped for shipping so you may need to flip the top split over. Very satisfied with how these turned out!

These are an awesome set of wrist gaurds. They have the look and feel of the old Pawn gloves with superior quality and feel. Very much appreciate the ability to remove the plastic brace as the padded palm is more than enough for me for most sessions.
