I have tried several different ligatures over the years and this is absolutely the best I have used. It is easy to get the reed just right, very quietly, and it plays freely.

Used on Bb clarinet. The reed feels a bit more free blowing and less rigid compared to the standard metal one. Not sure what else to say other than I like the tone this produces. I personally use this with a Vandoren B40 mouthpiece. Would recommend you try this out and see if you like the sound it produces. I do kind of regret buying this off Amazon as I know that music stores are finding it increasingly hard to make ends meet.

First, I don't have a local teacher, so my instruction has to be virtual. It would be helpful to have an experienced clarinetist ensure that I have the ligature's installation options (metal on reed versus fabric on reed) wisely selected. That said, the ligature gives me consistent performance and it appears to be virtually indestructible. My tone is generally better than when I was kid; when it isn't, the fault lies other than with the ligature.I currently have it set up to place the black fabric between metal clamps and reed. It's working fine that way, but I'm just returning to the clarinet after a 51-year break. I'm not sure an absolute beginner would be wise to choose this ligature unless an experienced teacher is available "in person" to guide the installation.

I bought this for my sister who is a sophomore in high school. It seems to allow more resonance than her previous leather ligature! It seems durable and comes with an extra plate. I would recommend this ligature if you like using leather!

This is most probably the best Ligature Ive ever had , and I've had the BG ,VD optima , etc.I was skeptic whether it really makes any difference , but like others have mentioned here , it a pleasure to use this LigatureI've tried all options but like the default one best - the covered, angled metal insert , on bothe my legeres 3.5 and VD blue 3 , onBD5 and VD on M15 and M 30 on R13Avis

I bought this Rovner ligature to replace my gold BG Revelation Ligature that I had loved and used through my music major years in college but cracked. When i bought a new BG Ligature they sent me one that didn't work (the gold part was uneven causing me to squeak a lot and not voice or articulate notes easily). In short I hated my new BG gold Revelation Ligature, and the place I bought it from had a no return policy. I wasted $50 on that thing. So now I've moved on to the Rovner brand. My only disappointment is that I waited too long to try this out. I love that you can adjust the ligature to make your sound brighter or darker. It works! Really nice tone and articulation with this lig. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a ligature that works consistently and predictably well throughout all ranges of the clarinet. Try it!

I have a Backun Beta Bb Clarinet equipped with a VanDoren B5 Mouthpiece.I also alternatively use a Pomerico Glass Diamond, VanDoren B50, standard issue Backun Beta mouthpiece, and an Andreas Eastman Mouthpiece. This ligature performs differently (desired) and equally well with all of them.I can use it to tune these different mouthpieces to classical, jazz, band and contemporary sounding embouchure,It also offers wide tonal control on a given mouthpiece for correct tonal quality, (and elimination of squeaks and register break issues) when a student player's embouchure is not quite yet fully developed. This selectability is not trivial and cannot be achieved with a standard or many other (sometimes more expensive) ligature(s).This ligature gives fantastic control over your reed with its many available configurations (included as received).I would recommend this to students and professionals alike.

The Rovner V-1R Carinet Ligature is outright amazing. I've started upgrading my clarinet recently so I've been trying to mix and match things for what works best for me (which is currently a green-line Buffet R-13 clarinet with silver keys, a Vandoren M13-Lyre mouthpiece, still choosing a barrel I want, and this ligature is now an official part of my setup). As seen in the photo there is a sheet of aluminum alloy that holds the reed in place. While playing the reed will expand or shrink and the aluminum will bend with it to make sure your sound is always top notch (there is also an interchangeable plate, and the ligature comes with a thin sheet that's about 1/2-1/4 a millimeter, and a thicker sheet that is 1 millimeter thick). The ligature is a bit spendy, but it's for a great reason considering the fact that it also keeps your reed right where you put it and will not move.

Someone told me about this kind of mouthpiece; they said it really made a difference in their sound and in the ease of playing. So I tried one for myself. I'm convinced! For starters it is easier to "suit up" with this ligature because there is only one screw to turn. The round, ridged crown makes it easy. I definitely believe I can tell the difference between the old ligature and this Rovner and I think it improved the tone of my notes from a tinny sound to a more full sound. There are several different configurations that you can use with this ligature so if you want to experiment with the results you may be surprised with what you can do. You don't need to tighten it down very tight for it to work just fine. The only negative I found with this is that now the new mouth piece cover won't fit in my clarinet case if it is on the mouthpiece. Oh well, I don't need to cover the mouthpiece when it is in the case anyway.
