Fixed my Camp Chef Woodwind with this high quality probe. Temps are only 2 degree differences between it and the meat probes. Time for some jerky!

I bought this as a replacement for my Camp Chef DLX 24. The original temperature sensor was starting to jump around a lot which made my smoker temperature very inconsistent. It took me maybe 20 minutes to get this installed. The hardest part was getting the old probe and wire out since there was a zip tie holding the old wire inside of the pellet hopper. I have used my smoker twice since installing the new probe and it definitely made a huge difference with temperature swing. My smoke has held the set temperature with in 2-3 degrees since I installed this new sensor.

The easiest way to know if you are internal thermometer is no longer working properly, is to use some of the temperature probes to try and record air temp. You'll need to prop up the sensor to do so.The other symptom is going to be erratic behavior. Flame outs, etc.Once I replaced my internal thermostat with this unit it was like getting a brand new grill. Super accurate, temperatures that matched the probes. Can't say enough good things.Look on YouTube for how-to videos. Remember to tie a string to the old cable connector, so you have something to fish the new cable back through with.

Brought my DLX 24 back to life. I don't understand how a metal rod can malfunction (this is my third probe in 8 years) but each time my grill has acted up replacing this probe fixed it. It's a little tricky threading the connector through the grill to the circuit board, but otherwise a simple repair.

Like others before me, the recommendation to tie on a feed-through line onto the end of the existing probe helps immensely in installation. The toughest part in the entire installation is cutting the tie-wrap on the excess wire that the mfr installed - narrow access to get both fingers and side-cutters in to cut the tie-wrap to allow extraction of the failed sensor. Once installed, I coiled up the excess wire and tie-wrapped it neatly at the bottom of the housing so it's easy to install and remove the next time I have to replace the sensor. Seems to perform beautifully. An easy go-to solution.

I was having issues with my internal probe on my Camp Chef Smoke Pro XT. This replacement probe was phenomenal. Took no more than 20 minutes to change out and fixed temps swings and very accurate. Allowed me to get better and higher temps.

Some reviews I read stated that the plugs did not match up but they matched perfectly for me. Just be sure to tie a string to the old plug and you can use it to pull the new wire back through. The price beats what Camp Chef asks and beats the shipping time by a couple weeks. All in all, a great buy.

Camp chef DLX perfect replacement!Another guy who lost his probe do to grill fire. I was bummed and embarrassed, but now we’re good as new I will remember to clean the Smoker more regularly. OK for installation I decided to remove the front panel screws and slide the unit over an inch for wire access you can also snake the wire utilizing the bad probs lead if you snip the wire at the old probe And tape The connector from the new probe and pull it through. You May have to push the connector through the whole first.
