The kit has everything you need, minus the skills you need to perform this repair. My son, 15, and I managed to get the controller apart and were able to get his joystick working, but I would either buy a new controller next time or pay someone else to do this. So... KIT is good. My skill might be the biggest barrier for me buying it again. Time will tell how long the new sticks will last, but I'm not optimistic.

Nabbed this to fix the middle's control--worked perfectly. Now, I'm not certain if HE was the reason his controller started acting up or if it was just regular wear and tear... but regardless, this saved the day. I'd recommend this to anybody in need; indeed!

Cheap fix for drift.Takes a bit of time and some patience but not a horrible replacement job. The included tools make the job easier.

Be sure to look up plenty of videos before you attempt to disassemble your quest controllers. If you are tech savvy however, after replacing and reassembling your controller these will work perfectly. They are centered with no drift at all and you have all the tools you need included in the kit to repair it yourself so it is worth it if you take your time to DIY. Great deal too! New quest controllers are like $120 each so I recommend it IF you do research to do so and feel confident about it. 5 stars! I hope this review helps and thank you for taking the time tor read it. Should anything notable happen while I use this product I'll update my review for you here. Thank you!

I swapped out my Quest 3 (not 2) thumbsticks with these, and I couldn't be happier. The thumbstick on my right controller was severely degraded and the left one I already replaced with a different thumbstick, but it wouldn't register movement in the upper right corner correctly. These ones perform identically to new OEM ones, which is more than I can say for other replacement thumbsticks I've tried.

I have a Quest 1, part is cross compatible with the Quest 2 sticks, needed a pair so I got these.NOTE: this is easily one of the most difficult repairs I've ever done, most of the controller assembly is simple enough, but when you get to pulling the outer rings off - something you need to do to get to the screws for the face/button plate - it becomes a complete nightmare of finding the right places and ways to pry the inner ring down and in enough to slide the outer ring away while also not damaging the LEDs or flex board for the tracking. *Then* doing the opposite to get it back together. It's a complete nightmare, so I went and broke my outer ring around the trigger on purpose for service access in a previous repair. I cannot speak for Quest 2 or later controllers, though I suspect the Quest 2 is likely the same.Back to the review:Installed one of them, it's at a dead perfect center. Ran the calibration anyway to zero the deadzone, it's absolutely perfect.Installed the second, tested the controller half assembled, it was so far off center that the calibration physically could not center it, I had to combine the range calibration with a good chunk of dead zone to make it work. It does work, it's at least better than what it replaced, both mechanically and in software, the spring is centered even, it's not a mechanical fault on the joystick part.I didn't take pictures, but I pried the faulty joystick in two to investigate... looks perfect to me, I genuinely can't figure out what's happening here. Tried to pull out one of the original thumbsticks' flex boards to cram in it, put it together like that, true to itself the stick was even more off with the worn out pot pads. Tried the other original stick's board, same story, it was even worse. So I put it back together as is, and I'm leaving it like that. I was able to get it to work out in calibration, slghtly better than the original sticks, it's just not ideal.I do like the hardware design of these new sticks, the bottom has a grease cup and better ribbing, the grease cup is pretty well packed as I found out, and the tolerances feel tighter. Just have that problem with one of them being way off center out of the box, wih no apparent cause or solution.

This review is based on the kit alone, and not the actual procedure of replacing the joystick. All these kits seem alike. However, I have noticed that other kits include a flat oddly shaped metal part that may be used for prying, and some package the joysticks in a separate bag. Essentially, they are all the same and what is included in this kit is enough to do the job. What I do not like about this product is not what is included (or not included) but what the seller is saying about the procedure. They claim that it can be done in 10 minutes or less and that it is an easy installation. Even someone experienced in this procedure would likely be hard pressed to complete it in 10 minutes or less. If you are reading this you probably seen the procedures posted on YouTube and know what I mean. If not, please consider if you are ready to take on this project by familiarizing yourself with the instructional videos available. I think I could have given a much lower rating based on misleading information in the seller's description but the four-star is truer to the actual product.
