Actual stainless steel segments that click in together very snugly. One end is has a rubber foot, the other a spike to fit through the tarp grommets.. I used the poles to support two shade tarps 10x10 at Burning Man this year. They held up well through dust storms and winds. The dust didn't compromise their assemble or break down.Very satisfied.

Ordered these in hopes of mounting horizontally to hold a make-shift canopy behind my van. They light and store compactly. One of the mechanical push things that snap into the mounting holes wants to recede into the pole section and I have to bang it vertically onto a surface to get it back in position. I wish they were just a hair thicker as I can feel a bendability too easily. But, they'd be great for a simple, affordable tent or canopy set-up.

It was a slightly misstated ad, it is only two poles with 5 segments, they click together with a spring notch and eye type assemble. Two parts are unique the one with the rubber foot and the one with the spike for eyelits.

Even though these poles feel a little bit light, they fit together very snugly and recently survived 35 mph of wind, tied just like you see in the picture. Very shiny, worth the money I paid and do very well. Just exactly as I need.

We used two to create a sun shelter, with the other two corners of the tarp attached to our tent. We used rope to peg the poles and these were sturdy and did the trick 👍

I'm very satisfied with these poles. They are solid and fit together well. They can be used to hold a light awning for a tent or to make an A-frame canopy over a pup tent. They are light duty, so they would not support a large dining canopy or other heavy load (be it from wind, weight, water or whatever). The sections are held together via spring-loaded buttons. The button on one section was had to press, but not impossible, and all the other buttons were fine. The sections from the two poles in the kit can be combined to make one longer pole, but each bit of extra length added would make the pole more likely to bend or break.I'm more than satisfied with the quality of these poles and I'll probably buy another set in the near future. This review is for "SAN LIKE Telescoping Tarp Poles Adjustable Tent Poles for Tarp Canopy Poles for Camping Canopy Awning Shelter Backpacking Hiking - (Adjustable Length - Steel Increase Thinckness)."

I was looking for something to take along in the canoe for our Eureka bug shelter and found these to be really well made but being steel, they've pretty heavy. Perfect for car camping. No issues with them holding up to the usual gusty winds in Temagami. Pay attention to the stated length because it includes the spike on the end of the pole. I extended ours with a couple pieces of doweling to meet our needs.

Used to put an “awning” over our large cabin tent with a tarp. Gave us more living space outside to spread out but be protected from the sun. Good quality and versatile to fit any height you need. Easy to use and the bags to store are perfect for keeping them together.

These poles are thicker and more sturdy than many at same price point Written description is accurate. Have used them to practice several 10x10 tarp shelters.

Me gustó su fácil ensamblaje. NO me gustó el grosor del tubo, lo que denota poca resistencia al viento
