The ohm ratings on the pickups was lower than advertised, not a deal breaker but would have benefited from a few more windings. The real issue lay in the fact that the hum canceling middle position did not exist. They were reverse wound, but the coils matched north/south. The only way to correct was to turn one coil over so reverse windings were correct. Pretty sure most won’t attempt this repair, so that would be a deal breaker. Overall, nothing special about the sonic quality; neck pickup is a bit microphonic. With enough gain, it will squeal.

Good pickups for the price, nice P-90 growl.

While too many affordable P90 pairs have crazy specs, like 15 kohm windings over ceramic magnets, these have the right impedance and resistance (reactance) for a vintage sounding pickup. The coild, magnets adn ono-ferrous parts are all good, with the exception of the screws, which have the classic Chinese small, unthreaded end. I sometimes use them as is, or replace the screws or magnets or both, to get the result I want, saving my time. So modified, they sound fine next to my hand made P90's.

A big plus for me is the use of vintage style pushback wire, which is much easier to work with the shielding unlike the contemporary wire with a thin layer of insulation around the shield and inner wire.I put on a dab of hot glue to keep the covers in place. Will install tomorrow,

Pickups were not glued to covers. Thought I could easily fix by gluing myself, but once installed one of the two pickups just came loose and dropped into the cavity. The adhesive can't hold on to the waxy bobbin, I think. Now I'll have to pull them out and put a foam riser underneath to hold them in placeGood things: very affordable, cloth wire and pickup seem to be of good quality. Sound good - not too noisy, so they work as described in that regard. They fit perfectly in my SX P-bass.They just need to glue these in more securely. If you purchase these, be prepared to use a foam riser of some sort.

I was skeptical about this but based on the reviews I went for it, what a surprise! they are right on speck, quality is decent and they sound great! pickups are not rocket science, those big brand name ones at 10 times the price are absurd, they can’t possibly be that much better… anyway, I am happy with these and I can recommend them without regret. they sound clear on all frequencies with the characteristic P90 sound, it’s a delicious twangy screamer, I resurrected my old frankenguitar with them, :) you cam’t go wrong and if you don’t like them your can return them easily, go for it!

My recent build needed pickups, I had planned to wind a set of P90s for the guitar, but due to the current pandemic issue my parts were delayed or lost at the time. So, as a back-up plan, I chose to purchase and install some "temporary" pickups and I purchased the SAPHUE Alnico 5 Soap Bar P90s.I am very impressed, they sound far better than I had expected, the appear to be well produced. They have pole spacing which fits well with pickup location. The neck PU is 50mm and the bridge is 52mm.The wire lead is braided (ground) and this may be the worst part of the pickups that I have found. While the lead is braided, it's not the tight braiding I'm accustom to, however it appears to work well and is not really an issue. After I had completed the guitar, my parts to wind a set of P90s arrived. I'll wind them for some other project, as these SAPHUE P90s are staying in this guitar.Measured Specs:Neck: 50mm pole spacingDCR: 6.86Q: 0.383 (@100Hz), Q: 2.26X (@1 kHz)H: 4.217 (@100Hz), H: 4.709 (@1 kHz)Bridge: 52mm pole spacingDCR: 7.401Q: 0.398 (@100Hz), Q: 2.18 (@1 kHz)H: 4.742 (@100Hz), H: 5.273 (@1 kHz)A note: the material cost to wind one (1) P90 is greater than this set of two (2) complete P90s.That doesn't account for the time to wind, wire, wax pot and package either.I will purchase these again, I have plenty of projects which will work with 90s.Worst case scenario, I could take these apart and rewind them, but that is not necessary, they are pretty good they way they are.
