It arrived within a day, but it was not what it was described or pictured on the webpage. The Mastic Pitch Pads were supposed to be 1-1/2" X 5" but were not. What was shipped was 7/8" to 1-1/8" X 6- 1/2". I'm returning this package. What a waste of resources and my time. Bummer!

I ordered the SatelliteSale Universal 1-1/2” x 5” Roof Mastic Pitch Pads, Pack of 4 Pcs to seal around the stovepipe of our wood stove. We had it professionally installed, but when we had a blowing rain shortly after it was done, the rain came down the chimney of the fireplace where the stove sits. My adult son was going to caulk around the stovepipe but I saw these pads and we decided to try them first. After all, they only cost $7.95, and a tube of caulk cost at least that much and then you have to buy the caulking gun! These patches worked perfectly! My son did all the work so I can't say exactly how he installed them, but he is very happy with their sealing ability and we no longer have any leaks when it rains, even a blowing rain! They may not be working under a satellite dish, but they are working for the stovepipe!! We highly recommend these pads.

I have considerable experience repairing and replacing asphalt shingle roofs including doing complete tearoffs down to original decking. However, I am not a professional roofer. For repairs I've normally cut pieces of galvanized sheet metal flashing material that is sized to fit the area needing repair and used roof cement aka "tar" liberally to seal the repair which is then nailed in place with roofing nails. This is highly effective as sheet metal is so durable and liberal application of tar makes things very water tight. However, such repairs can be unsightly, and can cover a larger area than necessary just to be sure water won't penetrate.Aesthetics is where I think this product may have an advantage. If you have removed antennas or equipment from your roof so the only defects to be repaired are screw holes, this product seems like it could do the job while leaving visible only a 1 1/2 x 5 inch repair per hole. Much cleaner looking repair. It's worth a shot. Whether the repair stays leak-free for many years is impossible to say because it's so specific to the situation. The "mastic" is a stretchable taffy-like material that seems may have an asphalt component in it. It's like caulk that has dried enough to no longer be sticky. There seems to be no structural additive, no fiberglass mat for example, so I'm not imagining exactly how this is supposed to work. The lag screws are the type with wide heads to distribute the force which is nice. The screws should last for many, many years while taking a beating from the weather. Whether the screws hold tight depends on the situation of what exactly they are screwed into -- is it a solid rafter or just decking? Newer OSB decking is a relatively poor material for screws to grab. Hundred year old decking is sometimes extremely solid, sometimes not.In short this kit seems designed with the idea of filling screw holes on a roof from removed equipment. Whether it 'works' I think depends on factors such as whether the screws have a solid substrate to bite into tightly. The kit can potentially avoid the eyesore of a larger patch done traditionally with sheet metal or with replacement shingles that may not match in color quite right. My concern is I haven't yet grasped how a taffy-like non-sticky substance held with one screw at each end is supposed to create a seal to the substrate that water cannot infiltrate. There are no instructions included. Perhaps the idea is to put the mastic underneath the shingles, like a mastic sandwich?

I got these because I've needed to drill and/or bolt something and needed to manually seal it. This makes the job a 100% easier. And it's a great waterproof seal. These appear to be very well made. I expect that they'll more than do the job.

So glad I found this. We have had a satellite dish on our roof for years that I’ve wanted my husband to take down. Now we can remove that eyesore and patch it correctly so there will be no more holes.

These are great for patching holes on mobile homes or sealing around new areas you had to drill into to prevent leaks.

The place I bought had what seems like 100 mounted dishes on the new roof. With this kit, I was able to at least get rid of some of them. They seem to work. No water yet. Lol Went in pretty easy though.
