MAP sensors can be mounted directly onto the intake manifold or mounted remotely with a vacuum hose going to the intake manifold. This sensor is a major contributor to fuel injector pulse width and ignition and valve timing, reporting engine load to the engine computer.

PURPOSE
The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor determines the intake manifold pressure or vacuum

- ECM uses signal to determine engine load and ensure proper air/fuel ratio

The o ring on the part was the wrong size. When I went to install it caused the part to break.

Por el tiempo de la distancia ( USA a Chile) lo adapte, saque el sello plástico que sostiene la goma aislante de la hembra conector ovalado ( Dakota). Eso permite ponerlo en la forma rectangular (Jeep) del conector macho. Y para fijar quedó al límite. Compraré el que corresponde, el problema es que se perdió el sello plástico ovalada de hembra conector. Amazon debe asegurar bien la compatibilidad al vehículo de tu garage en el filtro y no permitir el pago, como lo hace con el envío que no hacen sus proveedores.

Worked but had to change O ring O ring was to big

This part fixed the problem I was having. My wife’s 2001 dodge Durango had a problem of sometime not wanting to start right away and smelled really fumey. Plus the good ole check engine light was on for it. But after replacing and the first start up. Yes it struggled to start but after that. Starts up nice and runs perfectly. No more smelly exhaust and runs like a dream. And yes it’s got 240k on it.

Shopping was fast and correct. Works well and cleared the codes. The O-ring was too large and caused an improper fit but this was expected since it was noted in previous reviews. I was able to use the O-ring from the old sensor and it fit well.
