Cut the screen repair tape at least in half inches excess on all ends of the tear.
Remove

Self stick and slightly hardens avwhile after install. We had a up down kind of screen /storm door that no longer have replacement parts and door is no longer made so SOLvon getting a torn screen roll up replacement part for it. I was dreading summer mosquito season and swarming of bees and yellowjackets that come around until Finding this magical solution. At that point no use caring what it ends up looking like as the screen was torn across like a disembowlmentfrom end to end and three inches tall this four inch roll sure did the trick. It was so easy to use I didnt even read the instructions. Unroll, sideeye measuring, cut, and apply with one person on each side of the screen to give counterpressure while sticking it across the hole. Pretty proud of a daunting task accomplished in mere minutes! Bam. Done. No more getting eaten by skeeters or harassed by snail marketers trying to hand you spectrum flyers through the hole! Still got a lot of roll left, might have to use some as a marketer rat glue trap, the only con is that unfortunately the screen doesn’t filter their jargon and translate it to clean bs.. solid buy. Highly recommend. The screen roll, not the marketers.

This tape is not as good as the heat activated patches. After a few weeks I had to pull the tape off and replace with heat activated patches. This product is visible in each place I used them. It is easy to cut and apply but in my area it does not stick on well.

Review of Screen Repair Tape, Extra Wide (4in x 16.5FT), Black, Adhesive & Waterproof, Fiberglass, fix for Screen Door and Window Screen @ $12.99 at time of purchase.What you see advertised is what you get and nothing more. There are no instructions. I realize that must sound silly to say with this product, but there is nothing about cleaning the area first or anything else. I found separating the clear plastic from the screen tape slightly difficult. I cleaned the areas I wanted to repair before using this tape. I also chose to apply this from the outside to help keep the adhesive side pointed inwardly in hopes of reducing the debris and bugs from the outside from sticking to the tape. It seems fairly strong. I had no clue as to the country of origin until I had to find it on the Amazon page. I prefer to know where products come from as this is important to me. This comes from China. The price is reasonable, if it holds up, and only time will tell. It’s very obvious to see where you have repaired your screens. I did choose to use a lot bigger sections of the repair tape than the size of the holes in my screen was, but I hope this helps reinforce the screen integrity. Where I’m using this right now is hit by direct sunlight most of the day, so I don’t know if that will affect the durability of it or not either. I will try to update this review with any relevant information as time goes on. I deducted a star for no instructions/recommendations and the difficulty in separating the 2 layers.

While you can definitely tell that there are patches on our screens now, I’m assuming that if you’re looking at this product you’re probably less concerned with aesthetics and more concerned with saving money. If that’s the case, this works great. It’s easy to use, sticks to the existing screen with no issues, and perfectly covers up any holes or tears. I’m sure you could spend a little extra time lining it up with your existing screen so that it blends in better, if you wanted to. It’s easy to cut any size or shape that you need. We mostly just have small tears in our screens, but there are a few large ones and this has covered them up well. We’ll have to replace the screens eventually, but this has helped extend their life by a few years, at least.
