Flexible hose kept ripping. Not a very durable product

Although this is a review of a free product, I give you my word that my reviews will always be unbiased and truthful.Let's face it, none of us are getting younger, and the older one gets the longer it takes to heal from an injury. I've always hated climbing up onto my roof to do the gutters twice a year ( I live in Washington state. It is very rainy and we have lots of trees). Anything I can do to make this job easier and safer, I am all for. I have a backpack blower that I used with this. It worked quite well on my single story house. I saw some of the other reviews of the blown out hose section, so decided to try it just at idle speed, and it did the trick for me. I can see how it might fail at higher pressures, but for me, it worked well. Made the job pretty easy, thought I'd highly recommend a hat and work clothes as I did get splattered with debris.

This kit is easy to put together and has a long reach. I like that the top is curved for ease of getting into the gutters. My main issue with the kit is that the assembly doesn't fit securely to my Ryobi leaf blower. It is awkward to hold the telescopic hose almost to the leaf blower while maneuvering it along the gutter. Also, the gutter scoop didn't work because my shingles overhang the gutter. Even while the scoop is narrow, it isn't narrow enough to fit the exposed space.

Love the idea of this and was excited to use it but like almost all the other reviews say, after about 20 minutes the flexible part broke. I duct taped it but broke again. Just not good material. Its a shame because I like the idea and it seems like it would work if it were better quality.

There is plenty of length to easily reach inside gutters to blow out debris. This product is best for leaf removal but won't be able to get out all of the shingle grit that tends to accumulate over time. However, it does make for easy work on a single story house.

So my house is almost completely surrounded by gutters and is also quite tall so cleaning them out can be quite a chore. So when I saw these I figured it would be a great solution. However I think it may be one of those ideas that is great in theory but maybe not quite so great and execution. I have to say that it is possible they may work better if you have like a commercial strength leaf blower. Mine is a 40 w Cobalt and it barely moved the leaves. My leaf blower on its own is quite strong but when you add the hoses to it it greatly reduces its strength. It's a great idea but maybe it could use some additional work.

First, there are design obstacles which are not completely overcome. First, your blower must have a cylindrical exit port. I have three leaf blowers. The strongest of which is a corded Toro model, but it has a flat oval-like port and the Universal Gutter Cleaning kit will not work with it. This would have been my preferred option. Also, one of my cordless leaf blowers has an exit port about 1.75" in diameter, and that is too small to attach securely. My third blower's port is rough 2.2" in diameter, and this works. Sort of. Second, it is also very cumbersome to use. I am unsure if a shoulder strap will help or not. Also, the tube sections do not firmly connect to one another, and I was constantly having to re-tighten them. Some of these issues I may be able to solve with duct tape. I remain a bit skeptical about the others. Lastly, and this is just an impression, but there appeared to be a loss of air pressure between the leaf blower and the exit nozzle. I don't think it was blowing with the same force as it does when used in the yard with a shorter nozzle. With a more powerful, corded or gas powered leaf blower, it might be a more effective tool, and this is something to consider before buying.

For starters this is only going to work well if the leaves in your gutters or debris is dry. If it's wet it's going to take a quite powerful leaf blower to get the stuff up and out. The whole assembly is about 10 and a half feet long not including the leaf blower. I did take the discharge tube off the leaf blower and attach the collar to it, just to make things a little bit more manageable. There is rubberized silicone inside the sleeve, but I still use a little bit of duct tape, because it kept popping off. Everything else just screws together, and if you don't need all three sections, you don't have to use them. This is only going to work for a single story house. The material seem okay, the plastic seems thick enough for it to be sturdy. And once it's all assembled it's not heavy, it's just awkward. Having to walk, hold the leaf blower, hold the extensions, jump over the gutter nails, it takes a little bit of patience.
