I got this to scoop gelato style ice cream and it works great for that purpose. It also works great for getting the perfect serving size of rice. The workmanship is a little rough so it does have a rustic look like it was handmade somehow.

I mean I've never felt the need to upgrade my rice spoon but I have no regrets. It is very well machined and will be the only one I'll ever need. Who knew you could find a buy it for life rice spoon. I've had many over the years but this is by far the highest quality. It still looks brand new after a few runs in the dishwasher and my less than gentle kids abusing it. I'm kinda excited to try it with ice cream too!
