nice and sturdy I love the matt black. I plan on using these to make a sandbox base to go under my chicken coop.

I have built wood planters in past, and can say that metal corner brackets like this provide simplicity in construction and add a sense of character and design to planters. It comes with screws and enough to build either one fairly high planter or two shorter ones. It provides a lot of ridgity to the boxes and is very easy to setup and install. Overall I am happy with this set and would purchase in future.

This is a nice set of 8 corner brackets for raised beds. They come with a nice assortment of screws that should work for almost any type of wood that you choose. The brackets appear to be powder coated, but the listing says that they are painted. Whatever it is, it looks great and looks like it's going to last. The brackets are strong. I tried to bend one with my hands and I really could not get it to flex - impressive.2x lumber is usually used for raised beds, so the best option is probably going with 2x6's.A 2x6 is 1 1/2" by 5 1/4" So if you stacked two of those on top of each other you would have 10 1/2" of vertical edge. I'd make the top of the bracket flush with the top and let the extra 1/2" in go into the soil. These are quality brackets, so as long as these work with the lumber you want to use these will be great.=========================================Additional Information - I am going to used these for the corners of a cold frame. I'll use two on the front of the cold frame which will be two 2x6's. Then I'm going to build the back with four 2x6's, so I'll use four more and have 2 left over. I think that it will be nice and sturdy and look great too.

The brackets are exactly as pictured. They are flexible enough to work around corners that might not be exactly 90 degrees but sturdy enough to provide extra support. However, the screws are garbage. After the first one stripped out and the second one sheared off I was through with them. Buyer Beware: you will need to supply your own hardware if you want to secure them.

These are great and easy to use. The wood you use has to be relatively thin in order for it to fit properly. My husband just used some scrap wood we had. Super easy and customizable. You can make long boxes or small. The metal is nice.

My wife wants to build some raised gardens this Spring, by which I mean she wants *me* to build some raised planters this Spring. But she'll do most of the planting and caring for the garden once they're ready, so it's something I'm happy to do. I was thinking of just screwing the lumber directly together, but how well would that hold up once the dirt and water started piling in? Then I saw these, and I realized this would be a great solution for my backyard engineering conundrum. For $34 you get a set of 8 corners, and enough wood screws to use all 8. Other than lumber, tools, time, and knowledge, this kit has everything you need! Seriously though, these brackets help a lot, and they're nice looking. If you get L-shaped brackets from your local hardware store and coble something together, they're not going to look as great as these. You could, of course, put smaller brackets on the inside of your planter, hiding the hardware and giving it a more natural wood look, but I think these look good, and having them on the outside should hold it together better. They are frosted, and have little wavey lines cut in them for style. They're 11 inches tall, and 3 inches on each side. If you wanted a 24 inch deep bed you could use two on each corner and hold everything together. The product description says they're non-toxic, so that's a plus for gardening I suppose.Overall, these are very nice and should be quite helpful for anyone making raised garden beds or any woodworking project that requires 90 degree right angle brackets. Recommend!

This decorative corner brace is attractive, has a durable coat of paint, and is 1/32 inches thick. I will be using these braces to raise the height of my current raised beds so my wife can access our vegetables easier without bending over so much. The thickness is adequate for this use. At first I was concerned about the decorative design in the metal compromising the stiffness of these braces. After seeing these in person, I no longer have this concern. These have screws that do not have wide threads so I will be using screws with more aggressive threads. My concern is that as wood dries out, the screws provided could easily loosen. The price is fair for this set of brackets.

I ordered these for some existing raised garden beds that I crafted years ago from pallets and galvanized corrugated roofing panels. The corners have started to rot away after five years and I needed to reinforce them and decided that instead of using more wood, I’d give these metal connectors a try. These brackets are very lightweight at 8-ounces each but are plenty sturdy and have multiple areas to which you can install screws. Since I’m drilling these into metal, I didn’t need the supplied wood screws, but I was able to double these up, stacked one above the other, for my 3-feet high beds.If I have any concerns, it is with how long the coating will last, as I can’t tell if it is a powder coating or something else, and since these are steel, they could rust if the coating is worn or scratched. Aluminum would have been a better weatherproof solution, although it would have made the backets thicker.Despite my nitpick, these are great sturdy brackets that will certainly last far longer than any wooden solution.
