About this item

  • Disttion Guitar Effect Pedal with 3-b EQ
  • Independent 15dB Boost

Diamondhead is a multi-stage distortion + boost pedal that captures the sound and feel of a hot tube amplifier operated by a foot pedal or boost - the guitar sound that defined the classic metal and hard rock of the 70s and 80s.

I love the overdrive and crunch sounds! Set or adjusted you can get a loud distortion sound! It delivers the sounds! Just great played through a clean Fender Deluxe and super throathy via my 100 Watt Marshall Head!

Having been a Seymour Duncan pickup fan for years, I was looking forward to playing through this pedal. However, I was totally disappointed. I could not get a good tone out of the diamondhead for the life of me. It was also extremely noisy. The boost and saturation switch just increased the noise. Revv G3 is far superior.

Do not get me wrong it is a nice effect but sounds nothing at all like the demo's from Duncan. I played with it for hours and my amp. Got some great tones but again nothing like the ad video. I still would buy one.

Picked up the Seymour Duncan Diamondhead pedal a few weeks back. I've been using the Palladium pedal as my pre-amp/gain stage pedal in my travel rig for a while now and I'm pretty happy with it, so I wasn't sure I was looking for a replacement but the Diamondhead piqued my interest. The Diamondhead pedal actually has slightly less gain to it than the Palladium, but definitely has a character to it that gives me a sharper yet still smooth kind of distortion that works great for both leads and rhythms. The EQ is responsive and I really like the quality of the midrange. But the real winning points of this pedal are the Boost feature and the Sat switch. While the Palladium has a decent boost on it, I find the quality of the Diamondhead's boost to be much more appealing, in that it not only works independently of the gain stage but also has a more favorable impact on the overall tone of the pedal when engaged. When you kick on the Sat switch and the Boost you can definitely achieve heavy chugging tones perfectly suitable for heavier metal rhythm chug tones. Most of the videos I've seen online emphasize the fact that this pedal is geared towards achieving classic hard rock & metal tones but I've been using it for heavy, down-tuned metal stuff and it's performing like a charm so far. I find it a bit easier to control at high gain/high volume settings as well, and can lay back a bit on the noise gate actually. Given that this pedal has a great Boost pedal built into it as well as a really good distortion pedal I think it's a pretty fair deal, definitely worth checking out.
