About this item

  • Humbucking 7-string Guitar Pickup with Ceramic Bar Magnet - Black

Created for total sonic obliteration, the Nazgûl starts where most passive high output pickups stop. The large ceramic magnet serves up aggressive tones for brutal, drop-tuned, chugging riffs, while the mid range is specifically voiced to bring out the definition from the B & F# strings. Fear not, though, for all of the gain and ruthless attack you're going to use, the notes will still remain fluid and articulate. complete setup Bridge only. Designed to be matched with the Sentient neck. Offered in 7 & 8 string passive mount with naked coils or black metal covers, or in Active 'Soapbar' Mount with exposed adjustable pole pieces. guitars Any 7 or 8 string. It brings out the best characteristics from any guitar. available mods 7 and 8-string version. players Aaron Marshall (Intervals), Keith Merrow, Jason Frankhouser

Swapped out my bridge pickups that sounded muddy with this pickup. These sound incredible. High output is an understatement

i was trying to convince myself that this pickup sounded good until i played another guitar with a nazgul in it. it sounds horrible, lots of unwanted string noise, pinch harmonics dont squeal as loud, power chords on the higher strings sound weird and have a kinda clanky metal twang. 350 bucks down the drain.

Bought this is a gift and they loved it. Very nice product, no defects to it, well worth the price. It was packaged securely too so no concerns of damage during transport and delivery.

Waste of money. Sounds like garbage no matter what Amp I play through. Made my $800 Ibanez sound like a $29 P.O.S. Can't wait to replace this shyte box.

This is a bit of strange pickup .. let me start by saying I'm using this pickup in an all mahogany schecter and through a peavey triple X amplifier ( high gain tube amp)... for some reason I got the impression that I was getting the most ultimate metal pickup . I was wrong . Sorry if that's disappointing . This pickup is strange .. in that it's somewhat muddy , yet it's kind of thin sounding in the higher notes...I think it's due to the fact that this pickup has crazy mids and lots of treble. All the mids just come out like mud through my amp.All guitars and amps will react differently . I'm sure it's because my amp is already dark sounding and my guitar is made from mohagony which is naturally warmer sounding . So all these mids from the pickup just make it sound very dark .This is the thing about pickups , some pickups sound great in some guitars and terrible in others. In my opinion I would not put this pickup in a mahogany guitar . Unless you want a dark tone . I personally prefer a much cleaner and brighter tone for a more crunchier tone .Overall it's not the worst I've heard but it's far from the best . Low tunings sound OK . But the low B gets kinda muddy . And it has a smoother darker tone that I don't want in a metal pickup .If you have a bright guitar I say go for it . Unless you want a very dark tone

I tuned to drop G and I still dont feel like Im mud slinging. The tones are crisp and clear. The only issue is with my ibanez rga7 i had to have the pickup fitted, a little bit of it sanded down inside so it would fit. The pickup ring wont fit so you will need a custom one :/ but it sounds great.

This humbucker is the most amazing one I've heard so far for my very erratic and ever changing style of music. By that I mean Fluctuate between Metal and Clean older Jazz., while hitting everything in between. Punk, hard rock, soft rock, folk, indie Prog, even a little country.. just a little. Very Clear Beautiful TONE with just as much bite and crunch as you want. The sensitivity is amazingly articulate and flexible. ALTHOUGH! This pick up is particularly GREAT for METAL! or even hard rock. Ceramic magnet gives tons of high output - punch you in the face- low end chugging - high end screaming attack! And the Sentient Matched very well in the neck. BEAUTIFUL tone with VERY DAMN NEAR equal output. AlNiCo magnet technically has lower output but i can't tell the difference. Perfect flawless tone for soloing and wonderful levels for playing pace changing jazzy scales.ON A PERSONAL NOTE OF OPINION. I truly believe that this Duncan sounds like Duncan combined with EMG, and made a perfect Hybrid between the two taking only the best of each brand into this pickup.Looking for a new 7 string pickup? THIS IS IT.
