It’s was a big difference between the other well known brand that usually use in my guitars. The tone was just what I was looking for.

In a SSS Strat I use this now in the bridge. It simply blows away any other bridge single coil away, I like em better than hot rails. It truly does have a humbucker type depth, clarity, punch. Handles extreme overdrive with note and string separation.I use them in my two Telecasters too.

The pickup is smaller than the original Ibanez pickup but the sound of the SLL5 blows away the stock ibanez pickup. This middle pickup now enhances the sound when blending with the other humbuckers on my S series. When used on it's own and together with any of the two humbuckers it produces a stratty sound. One thing to note is that I had to invert the wires on the SLL5 for all pickups to work properly.

I was looking to replace some cheaper pickups with one that has a bit more oomph, and this is it. I got mine at a pretty great price (I think $65?), so it's right there at the edge of being budget friendly.I placed mine in the neck position and it's been great. In my guitar, I have HHS setup (where this Seymour Duncan is the S), and have 500k pots with a .047u cap, and the Seymour Duncan really shines. I'm super happy to finally have a premium pickup that I can show off and get great sound, and it was at a great price. The official product description said "fat punchy sound", and that's accurate. It still does have a very slight single coil hum BUT I felt like it was much less than my previous pickups.

Adds a great lead sound. Not too noisy and easy to install.

Hey folks. Bought this last year for a Nashville Tele Thinline custom body I built out. Used this as a middle PUP based on reviews here. While it sounded nice, it was totally WEAK against the SD Tele Vintage Stack in the neck and SD Quarter Pound Tele Bridge pups. Like had to turn up the volume to hear it weak. Here's why I think: This NOT designed to be a middle PUP..neck or bridge. SD makes all three of these in calibrated versions. Here's the description on the TRUE middle pickup: The Quarter Pound RWRP for Stratocaster uses the same hand polished diameter alnico 5 rod magnets and high output coil winding as the standard version. When combined with the neck or bridge pickups, the reverse woundreverse polarity middle delivers noiseless 2 & 4 positions.

Nice Strato Sound... certainly better than a lot of stock Fender and Squier Pups... but i expected a lot more. When talking about single coil pups, well, Telecaster is better than Strato... that's it. I got a AmStd Telecaster and it beats all the Strato single pups i've ever tried. I thought this would be the one pup that will make me fall in love with the strato sound, but not...If you love Stratos... this is a nice pickup. My stratofriends loved it... But if you're a Telecaster Man, like me... stay on Tele's classics.
