I was not sure about the ratchet function - it seemed like a good idea but sometimes those things don't work out. In this case it works - within limits. Everything comes in a nice canvas type zippered bag and unlike some things you get - it also goes back in the bag easily. I took it outside and used it to jack up our small SUV. I'm used to the type of scissor jack where you put the hook in an eyelet and use the lug wrench to spin it round and round and round. This ratchet system works well and is likely easier for some people. However, the spot I wanted to place the jack was too far under the car so that I could only turn the ratched about 3-4 clicks per arm movement. That would be a lot of wasted time and effort. I picked a different spot out at the edge of the car where I could get about 270 degrees of rotation in the ratchet. It worked flawlessly and I lifted the car enough to see daylight under the tire and then lowered it back down. All fairly quick and fairly easy. Going down the old style where you spin the rod would be a little easier and faster to me but this was fine. My biggest concern would be the durability of the ratchet. If it were to strip, break or fail you would be unable to use this jack without a second socket or wrench. I may throw in a spare socket and socket wrench just to be sure it will always work. I did not try the lug wrench. It comes with 4 different socket sizes and should work fine although it is a little short if your lugs are really tight you may end up standing on it to generate enough force to break them free. Finding a steel tube you could slide over the end and make a longer lever might not be a bad idea and it would fit in the bag as well.

Has everything you’ll need if you have to change a wheel … super compact, I like the double sided sockets for most lug nuts and extending handle. It all fits in a simple bag that can be stored almost anywhere. Seems well built and a good value.

If you've ever been stranded on the side of the road with a flat and has to change the tire using the scissor jack that came with your car, you had probably had to deal with the pain staking slowness of the manual handle used to turn the jack screw. When you're on the side of the road with cars zipping by, it's not a very pleasing experience. This jack and its ratcheting tool really helps to resolve that problem, as you can now get your car off the ground quickly. Also, the large foot plate on the jack is much better if then the tiny one on my car's jack especially if you're on softer ground. I love that this kit comes in its own handled pouch as it's easy to keep it all together in the storage area of my trunk and is not an eye sore. Very happy with this tool.

My impression is that it does not take up a significant amount of room in the trunk, which is a significant advantage for me. Due to the fact that I already carry a significant number of other emergency supplies, this jack fits perfectly without adding a great deal of additional clutter. It is strong and unquestionably does what it sets out to achieve, despite the fact that it is quite little. The lifting range of 3.85 inches to 17.3 inches is sufficient for the majority of automobiles, multi-purpose vehicles, and sport utility vehicles. I used it on my car, and it hoisted the vehicle to the required height without any difficulty. The fact that this kit comes with both a ratchet wrench and an L-shaped wrench is something that I believe was a sensible addition to the package. I discovered that the ratchet wrench made things a great deal simpler when I first began using the jack. This was in comparison to the earlier jacks that I had used in the past. Through the use of the ratchet mechanism, the lifting action is made to be more fluid and much less taxing on the body. With my previous manual jack, I recall having a difficult time lifting the car, turning, and twisting for what seemed like an eternity. However, with the assistance of this ratchet tool, I was able to elevate the vehicle in a matter of minutes with very little effort. For someone who does not have a lot of upper-body strength, I believe that this would be a huge benefit for them.

I've been looking for a set of tools that would allow me to better help other motorists stuck at the roadside with flat tires. This kit provides just about everything one could need to do just that. (The only thing missing is tie chocks.) Better yet, it all comes in one zippered bag with a carry handle. For occasional use, this is a great kit!

I always want to be ready in the case of an emergency, and while I carry a spare tire in my trunk, I’ve never actually had a jack to be able to put it on. What I like about this kit is that it includes almost every piece you could think of and it’s small enough that it doesn’t take up a lot of space in my little car.The jack seems heavy-duty and durable. I love that it comes with gloves and its own easy transport case. The instructions do say to use wheel chocks if you’re going to jack up your car, and those don’t come included, so I’ll have to find those separately. Otherwise, I’m quite pleased.
