It whistles, and it's a much smaller format than the plastic whistle heads I've been seeing.I really was hoping for a different sound, due to the metal body vs the plastic ones, but it sounds the same.

Love these and can use them in events that only allow wood arrows. Everyone that I showed these to they love them and thought they were cool.
