Yes it Dodson. It Is helping quite nicely in helping us keep our House cooler. The Online Thing you need to be awakea of—-if you are putting groomets in it first prior to putting it up or Over something-be awakea that this material Is very thick. Tōkō us a little longer to pūtē The grommets in. But it Was worth it & I learnws something new.

Love the tie ribbons - we were able to use this shade sail over a gazebo frame that was damaged by the weight of snow. We originally got this particular sail about 5 years ago to accommodate the broken frame, changing it from a gazebo to a pergola. I was going to wash it in my machine for this year, as it was still in good condition but needed a cleaning - but it wouldn't fit in my machine. I ended up buying a new sail, and it is the same quality as the one I got several years ago. We love it.

Over the last two years I have purchased several sizes of the tan color shade cloth to use in different situations around my home. It comes in a variety of colors and sizes, it is easy to work with and stands up to weather while providing shade on the most brutal summer days. You can cut it if needed with regular household scissors and the fabric does not ravel or fray, it just rolls into itself on the cut edge which isn't a bad look but you can fold it over and flatten if you wish. The included fasteners are sturdy enough to hold the cloth and a good design. I have even modified them by snipping off the loop so I can use it in places other than on the edge, pushing both sides together through the cloth, then fitting a small washer in the center hole and screwing through that to attach the cloth as a vertical privacy screen against a fence. I also keep one in my camper van. I attached the fasteners at the corners (again with the loop removed) and when setting up camp insert telescoping tarp poles into the holes to raise the cloth to the desired height. This is much better than tarps because the wind passes through this cloth so there's no flapping or "sailing away" of the shade material. You will not regret buying this product!

We used this material on top of the clear polycarbonate roof covering our deck. I wanted to reduce the heat and glare of the western sun in the summer, but maintain the option of allowing full sun onto the deck in winter. I attached one side of the fabric to a 1 x 2, cut to the width of the roof. I attached the other side of the cloth to a PVC pipe, also cut to the right width. The wood piece lays nicely just under the porch roof where the polycarbonate roof begins. In late spring, I put the cloth in place and release the PVC, which unrolls to the outer edge of the polycarbonate roof and stops. In winter, we remove the whole thing and re-roll the fabric onto the PVC for storage. It's been very durable so far, even surviving a couple of storms when the wind blew the entire thing into the yard. It makes our deck habitable during all but the hottest days.

I should have ordered the one with grommets. The tie downs are ok but I wanted the sun shade to sit flush on top of my pergola.Due to wind pulling on the shade at times!

I installed this horizontally over the top of a wood trellis patio cover.Initially I was happy: - The 90% rating was perfect to prevent glare from direct sun. - This was installed over the top of a trellis patio cover which has about 1 1/2" openings between slats. - When the sun was overhead and without the cover, the sun would glare through the opening requiring one to reposition so your eyes are shadow line or wear a hat. - With the cover the sun brightness was attenuated just right so that I didn't have to move out of the light. - I had previously installed a 75% rated cover but the sun light it let through was still much to strong without wearing a hat to shield the eyes. - To give you some idea of the sun blocking, the attached pictures shows the shade provided by the Shatex on left side while on the right side is the sun as it comes directly through the patio cover. The BAD: It disintegrated with sun exposure. Update Feb 2022: Its been 4 years now. During the last wind the Shatex blew off our patio in tattered shreds. See the pictures. Upon replacing it I discover it was totally disintegrated and came off torn shards when pulled. The seller doesn't specify what to expect for the lifetime in weather, but I was expecting more than 4 years.

I used this product as a material for building my own "solar"shade for my windows. Across the back of my bedroom is all windows that catches the hot Texas sun. My bedroom is always way warmer than the rest of the house. I looked at purchasing solar shades, but they only fit the tracks in the bottom half of the window and were at least $100/ piece and I'd have needed three.... So this was my much cheaper solution that covered the entire window. The product itself feels like a woven plastic, which I didn't expect. But it's fine for my use. I made frames from treated 1x2 lumber (three frames). Cut this to fit around and stapled it to the frame edges. It turned out great. It did reduce the visibility out the window a bit since this screen is pretty dense. The swimming pool is right outside these windows. I can still see the kids in the pool, may not be able to make out which one is who though. At night you can not see out at all. But I'm happy with the way it turned out and they are serving my purpose nicely.
