I’ve been using an AquaLung i770R dive computer for the last several years. This dive computer is much easier to use and much more intuitive when accessing all of its functions. I would recommend this over all other dive computers that I have ever used. I wish it was rechargeable but this is a double edge sword. Overseas all you need is a AA battery but I don’t think the removable lasts as long as my i770R rechargeable battery. But overseas you might not be able to recharge a battery.Best price I found was on Amazon with the quickest delivery.

This computer is flat out amazing. It's definitely geared to more advanced technical diving, but it's also very friendly for plain old rec diving. It's easy to use (I set mine up first and then read the manual, which is excellent) and simply put it just gets out of your way and lets you dive. The information you need is always right there, either my Perdix is psychic or it was designed by a bunch of divers. Maybe both.If you're newly certified and looking to buy your first computer, the Perdix AI wouldn't be a bad choice. It does lots of stuff you don't need yet, but nobody says you have to use those advanced features. They'll be ready when you are. If you're a pro with thousands of dives and a collection of rebreathers, this would also be a great buy...it'll do basically everything you need. Freediver, same thing. Wreck, sidemount, cave...this computer will handle it.Shearwater's software seems pretty good, though I haven't dug into it much. I use Subsurface for my logging (highly recommended btw) but I did use the Shearwater app to update the firmware and kinda played with it for a while. Not bad at all, and if I weren't already using Subsurface I'd probably be perfectly happy with the Shearwater app. Connection is via Bluetooth LE, so you can actually download your dives to your phone while you're still on the boat if you're so inclined. So what's the downside? If you put a spear to my head and forced me to pick nits, I couldn't come up with many. I kinda wish the screen were a little brighter. Two transmitters might be limiting in some cases. It's expensive, though given its capabilities I wouldn't say it's overpriced.I only have two dives on it, so my experience is limited here, but so far I love this computer. If that changes I'll update this review.

Highly recommend by fellow divers to turn my D4 into my backup. My first AI and it worked great right out of the box. Quick shipment before my March trip to Truk Lagoon and very easy to use. Outstanding visibility for a diver with progressive lens. Great to use for the deep wrecks and deco diving to get comfortable with displays. The San Fran Maru 185’ dive allowed the computer to display multilevel deco stops and time to surface with ease. Gas adjustments between days are made with easy. Great advance computer. Not a technical diver so can not comment on changing mixes during the dive or other functionality. Overall great computer, simple user interface, high visibility display will want to use more and more beyond simple house reef dive holidays.

So far, I really like this computer. I have an Oceanic computer that works good, but this one is easier to understand since I don't use it as often as some others may use and the abilitky to see screen and move pages under water for more info is great. I like that you just touch the buttons to turn on or change pages vs having a exposed button that has to be sealed or can leak. Changing batteries is so easy vs my other that leaked after a battery change one time on my old computer. I enjoy using this computer and although expensive, I wanted a great one instead of a good one. This fits that bill.

This is my second LED computer and it works very well. I did have to return the transmitter to which Shearwater responded immediatley and issued a replacement. I now have almost 100 dives on it and it’s been flawless. The ability to personalize the screen with info that is important to you is wonderful. A friend cares to see gas time remaining while I prefer to see PSI. Something for everyone. This is also great for technical diving so it is expandable beyond recreational diving should you so desire. It is incredibly easy to read underwater even without my glasses. I have the backlight set on automatic so have not had the opportunity to try on a night dive. The only thing I can say negative is about the download software. It has been a little glitchy and Shearwater, while being very open to discussion about these problems, has been slow in updating the patches.

All I can do is to join the others giving 5-stars reviews to this wonderful piece of a diving equipment. The computer is brilliant for dive planning, execution and analysing the dive logs. The information is clear, very well read under the water, the menus are intuitive. I'll have to use a loupe in order to find flaws. Maybe just a tiny one — Bluetooth pairing with my macbook isn't as smooth as everything else. The wireless transmitter works reliable, took a little bit to get usual that the remaining time is calculated till 50bar minimum, not the absolute time. Gas switching is easy and seamless. Recommend it very much!

This is my third dive computer (my second high-end one). It is as nearly perfect a dive computer as I can imagine. Easy to use, wide range of advanced options if you need them, easy to read in all conditions with my old eyes. The digital compass actually works well (previous brand computer's compass worked poorly). At the price this is a great value - high end function and power, not much more than the average rec computer. I'm not a super-advanced technical diver, but it's nice to know the features are there if I'd ever want them, yet it's as easy to use for simple OC rec dives as my first ultra simple computer. Bluetooth firmware updates and dive log uploads worked seamlessly with my mac, and I love that I can keep firmware and features up to date so easily. Highly recommended.
