This item seems to work great but in reality I'm not sure it works at all. After placing it in the planters I checked the status of the moisture in the planter and it showed wet on the high side. After checking this for about a week it always said wet on a high side but after my wife checked everything she told me that everything was dying because it didn't have enough water and sure enough she was correct. I have totally ignored them and wasted my money on them. If I hadn't disposed of the boxes I definitely would have sent them back.

The soil has to be dug up first or loosened up before inserting this probe and the probe itself swings its readings drastically. I will not trust it.
