Seems the feel on the brake lever is better. So far no difference in downhill use. between these and the metal pads. Using on a Pivot Shuttle SL and so far very happy with the outcome.

These are my favorite MTB brakes. I use them for trail and downhill riding and they hold up really well. I haven't had any issues with heat fade and minimal issues with squealing.

I was skeptical about the fins, until I got brake fade at the end of a very long downhill on the set that did not have the fins. (they were an off brand) They work well on my Trek Rail XT ebike.
