Tool worked as it should. After seeing a video review that did not like the metal pads against the slide. They have added vinyl pads to cover the metal pads. Would give it a 5 star if the sight prong pusher had a gap of 1 1/16” for the straight prongs. This would allow it to be used on 1” optic mount adapters going into the dovetail.

I purchased this tool but didn't use it for a while. When I did go to use it to replace the rear sight on a Glock, it failed. If you watch the video provided here, at -2:25 you will notice when he goes to push the sight, the pusher block rises. Well, mine rose to the top of the sight, and there was no more adjustment left to lower the top of the tool. There is way too much play in the pusher block. So for Glock pistols I would not recommend buying this tool. Unfortunately, it is too late to return it.

Much Improved Rear Sight Tool ... When I decided to save funding when I upgraded the rear-sights of my pistols, I had a rudimentary sight pusher, but this vastly improved sight pusher makes the replacement of my rear sights on all of my pistols (Glocks, S&W, Rugers, CZs) a real pleasure to do. Having much more control over every aspect of sight alignment and replacements so very easy. Being able to expertly replace or re-align rear sights with this tool will save you much money from taking it to a gun-smith and can be done very quickly. Highly recommended for the Sports Shooting enthusiast and for the CCW users.

The main tension mechanism meant to push the sights has some flex to it.Maybe for some guns this will work fine, but for my Shadow 2, as I was torqueing the thing, the tool flexed and bent enough so that the built in dial showed that the sight had supposedly moved 2mm, when in fact it had not moved at all. After some more torqueing the pusher gained enough force to push the sight, but, of course it did not move smoothly, it made a jump of over 0.5mm. After jerking the sight back and forth a couple of times, and more or less eyeballing that it had moved roughly the desired amount from its starting point, I was more or less happy.Overall - it will get the job done, but don't expect a perfect experience, you will have to mess around a little. The tool is just built a bit flimsy, but what else could you expect for $70?Maybe for guns with sights that take a lot less pressure to move than mine, this would work perfectly, I don't know.UPDATE: The seller contacted me and offered a full refund because I was not fully satisfied. I declined, I will be keeping the tool, because, like I said, IT GETS THE JOB DONE even though the experience is NOT PERFECT.

After reading several reviews, I ended up purchasing this model vs the name brand. Overall, this tool is hefty and stout. For its size, it has some weight. The weight of the tool helps keep it stable in the vise. I used it on a Glock 23 gen 3 to replace the rear sight. It worked as I had anticipated. I also did not need any extra leverage on the wheel. I did find that when I was moving the wheel, my knuckles would catch one of the stabilizing nuts. Not a big deal, but something to watch out for when removing or installing a sight. I did see a video review where they placed painters tape or half a business card on the top lock nut and the side nuts. I did not use any and my slide came out unscathed. For someone who will use this occasionally, this is a great value and product. I plan on using it to replace the stock sights on another firearm.

Tried a lot of other sight pushers, but could never find one that does both front and rear sights. This one really works and does a great job on front sights. This more affordable model works just the same as its more expensive counterpart.Does a good job on both front and rear sights.Holds slide firmly using 5 clamps.Solid base, adjustable bases are unreliable and problematic.Measurement ruler on both sides help fine tune the sights for accuracyThe pusher moves, not the slide. This pusher moves up and down for more accuracy. Other models you have to unclamp, re-adjust, clamp again and hope it at the right level. If not, rinse and repeat. This model locks the slide in place and the pusher moves for adjustment.Easy to understand and use. Even for beginners.

This tool is the cat's pajamas. It's larger and heavier than it looks in the pictures, or at least it was to me. It seems to be well built and works very well. I don't see any reason why it would not last a lifetime. You can buy this tool with a name brand inked onto the box and pay $200.00 for it, or you can buy it here for much less. I have a garage full of tools, but the first time I replaced the sights on a pistol, I did not have a sight pusher tool. Getting the original sights off that gun was not that hard, but I seriously thought I was going to damage the new sights (or possibly my gun) getting the new sights back on. I decided right then I would never try that again. But using this tool makes that job much easier. I recently replaced the sights on my Kimber using this tool. Both, the front and rear sights are dovetailed onto my Kimber's slide, and could be replaced with this tool. The original sights were on there so tight, at one point I had to use a box-end wrench on the adjustment wheel/handle to get the extra leverage to remove them because it was biting into my hands. Now that I know what it is like to replace them, I can't imagine it would even be possible to remove them without some kind of tool like this without doing some damage. The tool has clamps horizontally that make it fairly easy to properly align the slide in the tool, and vertically, to hold the slide down. Together, they hold the pistol's slide in place with very little opportunity for the slide to kreel when pressure is applied. There are calibration marks which may help you get the new sights in the same position that the old sights were in when you install them, if you are careful. I recommend putting some masking tape on your slide before clamping it down, just to avoid the possibility of scratching it.
