The silicone ring is soft and pliable, making it easy to install on my 228F Coleman lantern. Not only that, but it looks great, protects the fount (the base/fuel tank) from damage and lifts the fount from direct contact with the ground. I tried it out in black and red. The red matches the red in the Coleman logo and the logo on the globe. It makes a nice contrast with the green lantern. The black one, well, black just looks good with anything, right? I like them both and can’t decide which color I like best. They really dress up the lantern a bit. What a great addition to an already great lantern!
