When I was in Japan, I bought a beautiful wooden spoon. I've used it a handful of times, but it wasn't a joy to clean.**This is easy to clean, and fits ergonomically in your hand with each scoop. If I somehow needed to replace this, I would repurchase this exact one!Might just use the wooden one if we have guests over :)

I've wanted a silicone rice spoon to use with my ceramic cookware. This works for me. It's firm all the way to the tip, not flimsy, which I like. It can stand high heat (up to 446 F). It has a good feel and length, and isn't slippery to hold. It's anti-stick when in contact with food, which I like. Plus, it's dishwasher-safe, although I tend to handwash my silicone cookware. I like that it's BPA-free and has no odor. I found an additional use for it, too. It's nice and wide without food sticking to it so it works great in pressing down cookie dough on the baking sheet! Handy tool for the kitchen. I hope this information helps you.

I got this because I lost my bamboo rice paddle, so I thought I'd try a silicone one. I love it. I use it all the time, for so many things other than rice. I also like that it does not stain. I used it to stir some tomato sauce I was making in a deep skillet and I was concerned that it might get stained by the tomatoes, but it washed up as good as new.I also think it would excel at stirring still batters just because it would offer more leverage than spoons with longer handles. I like it much better than my old bamboo paddle and it is also proving to be more versatile.
