Large size, sharp blades, precisely aligned jaws. These are some very well-made snips. The soft grip is comfortable in the hand and under pressure when cutting.Etched measurement markings on the serrated blade allow for precise depth of cut without another tool to measure, clever and useful feature.Easily cuts through metal roofing panels, duct sheet metal, and any other thin sheet metal. If you need a large pair of snips for Roofing, HVAC, or fabrication, these are worth considering.

they seem sturdy and should hold up

These snips cut quite nicely - I do not know how well they will hold up, but so far so good. Be aware that you need some large paws to use the full range of motion with a single hand. The rubber is comfortable and the action allows for good mechanical advantage to cut thru tougher material.

The measurements of these snips are clearly given in the description, but that doesn't really convey just how big they are. They feel almost cartoonishly large. I have very large hands that, even with gloves on, still seem small holding these snips. The fact that they weigh in at a hefty 1⅓ lbs just contributes to the effect.Overall, these are nicely made and finished. They come with the blades lightly oiled to prevent rust. That oil also helps when cutting sheet metal, which these snips do beautifully. I had some light gauge mild steel and some heavy gauge aluminum sheet that I used these on. It felt like cutting cardstock with a good pair of paper-cutting scissors. The linkage that provides the compound action is a very effective force multiplier and it works smoothly. I definitely work faster with these. The quality justifies the price tag (actually, makes it feel like a pretty good deal), but with the improvement in performance, the tool will actually pay for itself in short order.

Worked for what I needed. I had to cut through a thick plastic floor mat, and it cut beautifully and was very comfortable on my hand.

Sharp and cuts well. Padded handles are nice too.

Each half of these snips is a jaw directly connected to its handle. There is no compound action but these snips are of excellent quality and razor sharp. I will keep them for that. The deception cost them two stars. I can't believe someone actually made snips with fake compound action. This has fooled a lot of people.

I already have tin snips and they do work but they are very awkward to use and I get a lot of hand fatigue when using them cut difficult materials. When I saw these snips have compound joints that reduce the cutting force required by 40% I thought I would give them a try.Turns out they really do out perform the other snips I own and they make the job of cutting through a variety of sheet metals and thick cardboard much easier. The blades on the snips are are really sharp and that combined with the intensity of pressure I'm able to apply they cut right though tin cans as well as galvanized and stainless steel sheet metal. The same is true when I cut through multi-layer thick cardboard which was a breeze to cut.The description states that they can even cut nails and though I haven't tried that but I believe it could be possible. One feature I've never seen before is the laser etched measurement markings on the blade which I think is a great idea when I need to make precision cuts. The snips feel like they are heavy duty when in my hand with the all metal construction and the grip is comfortable with its an inner plastic coating topped with an anti-slip layer for a good grip. These snips are so well constructed I think they will provide years of reliable performance. These are not the least expensive snips available on Amazon but I think the price is justified for the higher level of quality they provide.
